His part of the class was quite disappointing. On 2 occasions he didn't show up for class w/out sufficient warning, the 2nd time w/out any alert at all. He was busy w/ his Ph.D., which seemed more important than our class. Nearly all assignments had little benefit, lots of busy work. Class could've been filld w/ more learning experiences and ideas.

He is very calm and friendly, and for the people that have not done music in a long time, this makes you feel comfortable doing the work. His work relies on you thinking about what will engage a child, but with analysis at an adult level. it looks like a bird course, but if you want to, you can learn a lot about music for students.

I learned a lot by the end of the semester and there was really no pressure or stress which is what made it really good. A few projects but nothing stupid and he is very helpful. Highly recommended!

Terrible class! Terrible Teacher! Unfair and suspicious grading practices. Class is a waste of time and money. Seems to make it up as he goes along! BIAS! He'll grade you down if he doesn't like you (for no good reason). Pretend to care about what he's saying and you should be fine. Take at own risk!

he was awesome! he made the music half of the class actually worth going to! i learned a lot from him, which was funny, b/c he doesn't lecture a lot. i would definatley take this class in the spring/summer, it is an easy class at a fast pace. i would take him again!

Alex is really cool and very nice. Very intelligent and makes class interesting. He is very laid-back, which helps with this sort of course. Class itself seemed sort of pointless, but you get a few ideas as to how to incorporate the arts into schools. Alex is awesome though.

He is an outstanding teacher with great knowledge of the subject. He can inspire you to become a great teacher! And you can if you learn by watching. Alex is great & I hope he stays around a long time!

If you want to graduate to become an elementary teacher, it would behoove you to not think of this as pointless. I certainly wouldn't want some teacher to think that teaching elementary concepts is pointless when teaching my child. Alex is outstanding!
