Without a doubt the worst professor that I have ever had. We started the class with ~55 students and ended with ~20. He hardly ever did examples in class, he spoke quietly and faced the blackboard, he did not explain many of the topics well, and he skipped entire sections of material on midterm review days.

Cannot bear this class anymore. I took every note from the blackboard and read them again and again. Got no clue even when I highly concentrate. I immediately dropped this class after 2 weeks. I don't know if another professor would be good. But know won't be worse and I may have chance holding the high GPA

Dynin has a very heavy accent and is hard to understand. He doesn't explain the material well and often confuses English words with something non-English.

Only take this class if you want to a thorough understanding of linear algebra. You will have to work harder and most likely not receive the grade you like by the end. I enjoyed the class, so I recommend it if you go into for the learning opportunity. I absolutely do not recommend it, if your looking to just get by, because you wont.

Nice guy but, has a heavy accent, speaks very softly, makes mistakes on white board, has a hard time understanding where the mistakes are when you ask him about them (usually starts explaining something else until someone goes up and points it out), difficult tests on theory (so you better understand everything), and does not curve.

Drop him while you can. You honestly cannot understand anything he says. He doesn't follow the book, he does it his own way and if you don't do it his way, you are wrong. I learned from the book and got a 26 on my first midterm because I did not do it his way. I dropped because i did not want to fail and screw my GPA.

Not helpful at all and he says that you are supposed to read the book and do homework BEFORE his class to prepare for the upcoming lecture. Whew, good luck to anyone taking this... He also tells you the first day that he does not use numbers and also says that you will not get an 'A' in the class. He talks to the board and not the class.

Just drop, you cannot understand anything he says. He teaches with his back to the class and mumbles. He laughs at the class when someone asks to do an example. No one passes his class. Save yourself the trouble and drop or don't even take his class. other classes average 90 or above on tests and his class it is around 40

The very first thing he said, day one, was that his lectures wouldn't be following the book. He expected us to do all the homework and reading prior to class. If we're supposed to teach ourselves how do the work before lecture, what is the point of lecture? And when the test material has nothing to do with lecture or the book...

Nothing good to say about this prof. I met with him during his office hours, he gave me 15 minutes to ask my questions, there was no appointment after either. He doesn't enjoy his job, he seems to dislike answering questions and when he does, they are extremely difficult to decipher through his accent and 'theory'.

His lectures are really helpful if you really pay attention in class, although he has a very strong accent. Besides, his exams are really hard (I just got 61 in the 3rd midterm and I got the second highest score). Anyway, in his MATH 513, 80 percent is an A, why not do it?

He is the worst professor I have even had in my life. The level in exam and homeworks does not much(exams are way harder!). He allows open note during mid term and open book and note during final, but does not really help. You will find some problems that you have never seen in either in book or lecture. Do not recommend anyone to take this class!

Prof. Dynin is a brilliant mathematician. He is also, however, incredibly hard to learn from. His writing is illegible and if he speaks loudly enough for anyone to hear him, his words are incomprehensible. Expect to spend plenty of time outside of class reading the (wonderful) book. Open-note tests are 100% theory (some not in the book) and proofs.

Comment:
Dr. Dynin is a fine fellow and clearly a brilliant mathematician, but has substantial flaws as an instructor. Expect to learn the material thoroughly, but note that the his exams are excruciatingly difficult and will not correspond in difficulty to either lecture or homework problems. Notes allowed on exams, but not useful. Do not expect an A.

Drop NOW. Don't think just do it. Even if it costs you an extra year at Ohio State. He is a TERRIBLE teacher. He is useless in class and he tests are incomprehensible. Go to the dept. chair and ask him to put you in a different lecture or don't take the class if your don't want to destroy your GPA.

Arguably he has one of the most lenient grading policies I've encountered. That said, he is an awful lecturer, prone to mistakes and lack of clarity, and he makes really difficult exam questions.

It was hard to understand both his speaking and writing, and he made a significant amount of mistakes during lectures and on exams. The exams were based on his lectures and you can use your notes. I thought he was helpful in office hours if you are patient and I never got the vibe that he was a mean person.

It's an atrocity that this guy is a teacher after all these years. Has some kind of crazy vendetta against the book, despite the fact that you can't understand anything he says unless he's screaming at you. The worst professor I've ever had, refuses to write anything but theoretical examples on the board.

If you like failing this is the class for you. No one can understand what he says and the average on our final exam was a 37. He does let you use any notes/HW/Book but it doesn't matter because the tests come from his own theory and do not match the book or homework. Does not curve! Exams are impossible! Not helpful during/after class! DROP NOW!
