Good class (online), even if kinda boring. Every week you watch lecturettes, read, take a quiz, and have a discussion post. No discussion post on the weeks you have a 2-3pg essay to write. Textbook reading is pretty optional since the lectures cover it. Easy midterm/final w questions from quizzes. Clear grading with comments about your work.

Comment:

Good choice for REL credit. Discussion posts weekly and quizzes which came straight from the reading. Yes, there was a good amount of reading. If you write good papers and do the quizzes you will get an A (not an "easy A" since you have to put in the work).

REL108 online was an easy A. Discussion posts each week with responses. Three short papers. 20 multiple choice quizzes each week that come straight from the book. The midterm and final are just the previous quizzes combined. You can look back through old quizzes. Not a hard grader and not that demanding of an online class!

Course for those not interested in religion. It was more of a history class with one topic. Tests are super hard but he gives you two chances, including the final. Assigns 3 three-page papers and only gives two days to do the discussions. Chapters are very long and take forever to read. Very picky grader. Expect to work hard for a decent grade.

I took the online section, and it was just alright. You have to watch several lecturettes a week, read 20-40 pages from the text a week, take a weekly quiz, and post a weekly discussion response, while responding to two other students discussion. He's a very stingy grader the 3 papers. Overall, this class was a lot of work.

Dr. Sivertsev is a wonderful professor! Sure, his lectures are lengthy, but it isn't easy providing students with a full history of Judaism in just 10 weeks. He is an extremely intelligent and interesting person. Those who are looking for a blow-off class that still provide them with an A will obviously not enjoy his classes.

Extremely boring lectures, which stimulated very little interest in "The Jewish Experience" in class. The papers were a waste of time and the midterm was difficult (lengthy essay). As your attorney I'd advise you not to take this professor.

I don't know why this professor has a smiley face. Boring, hard to understand, acts as if you understand everything that he's talking about, hard grader, assigns massive amounts of reading (which im not sure if he's serious about yet). Not one of those classes you'd want to take to get an "A" and get an easy requirement out of the way..

He is a very nice person and a good professor, kind of boring but his class was easy and kind of interesting. I learned a lot! Attendance was supposed to be mandatory but he didn't start taking it 'til the last 2 weeks. Textbook was boring and a lot of readings, however I barely read anything and got and -A. Midterm & Final essays & 3 two pg papers
