Very passionate about his job, if you treat him with respect he will treat you with the same amount if not more. Show up to his class prepared and you will have no problem passing his course with high grades.

An unusual teacher, very driven and quite solid in his beliefs and thus wont be swayed by differing opinions in class discussion. Sometimes this class felt a little crazy as he would go off on strange tangents. Overall I learned a lot and really enjoyed the class, it's not difficult to do well if you put in some effort. Became oddly fond of him.

Don't let anybody fool you, Alexis is the best teacher around. If you want to learn from a worldly person, take his courses and he will teach you to think. He's the reason I became an English major. He teaches you not only about literature, but about life. He's outstanding, but if you whine and moan about difficult teachers, don't waste his time.

Needs to realize that not all college students are there on mommy and daddy's dime. This man is a lot to take. Had several classes with him, my suggestion for those who have a hard time with him- talk to him out of class, he is pleasant one on one. Very passionate and very knowledgable. Tends to get fired up, but hey, at least its interesting.

Smart man-can be a bit intimidating and not the most approachable. It wasn't until after graduation though that I realized how much I learned from him-he made me a better writer on so many different levels. If you're looking for an easy A, look elsewhere. If you're looking to improve, go to Levitin-he knows what he's doing.

Personality is lacking, can be rude at times; but he will make you a better writer. He is brutal towards your work and if you give him something that sucks, he will tell you, but he will also tell you why it sucks. Most people that don't like him are just bad writers who don't like to be told so.
