People say he talks about slavery too much but I disagreed I feel like people like to pretend slavery never happend or get sensitive about the topic in which case it bothers them. He is a good teacher and also hilarious. Don't be fooled by the angry people trying to give him a bad name. lol Enjoy!

Great professor. Allowed me to drop my lowest test score. He is funny and makes class entertaining. Ignore the bad reviews on here. Also use the audio version from the book. He pulls many test questions from the audio study guides.

He connects the past to things we as college students can relate to. He also keeps you laughing. Attending class is not mandatory but highly recommended. Do the readings and ask questions. He will explain anything you ask. He does talk about slavery alot but he uses it to connect one event in history to another so it all comes together.

He puts things easily in a way that you can understand. Its better if you go to class. He rambles and can get off track. To do well you have to take good notes and study a little per day!!

Real hard class. Talks about slavery way to much, as if to inform people of something that he hasnt experienced himself. Terrible teacher, avoid if you can. Class is too boring if your not into the civil war and any type of slavery.

Take someone else. He talks about people that are not important at all in history. The test questions are way different from what he rambles on about in class. Even if you are talking about something before slavery existed, he will find a way to make sure he talks about it. 3 tests and a final, that's it. Hard class with pointless information.

nice guy, but all he talks about is slavery, and the test are really hard. His out lines and notes don't match up nor does the book. don't recommend taking him, unless your amazing at history, especially slavery.

If you like US History and care about the subject take someone else! He talks about nothing pertaining to the class lecture and rambles on about other worthless topics. Half the time you don't know if he is talking about something that will be on the test or a trip he took to Africa a year ago. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!

AWFUL teacher. The only thing he talks about is black people and slavery. His lectures are random and they have nothing to do with the book. His notes consist of an outline that he puts on the overhead and he then he just talks about nonsense.

I wouldn't ever take his class again. He gives you no opportunity to make mistakes. You sit there the whole class and listen to slavery and he puts up and outline and talks. That is it. 3 test and a final. Attendance isn't mandatory but, you should go so you can get the outline. However, what's on the test isn't always given.

He Does talk alot about slavery. No matter what chapter we are on some how he fits slavery into the context. The class is pretty easy as long as you read your book the notes you should pass the tests. there are no other assignments just tests and he doesn't like to curve or give extra credit. attendance isn't mandatory but it is helpful to go.

Need to read book to get an "A". Everyone is right he does talk about nothing but slavery. Tests are not too bad. But you need to read the chapters! (They're around 14 pages long) Also attendance is not mandatory but you will want to go to take NOTES!

This is a great professor- funny and entertaining. Here is a clue though: Download the audio notes from the book. He pulls many test questions from these, and it will help you immensely. He is actually a very laid back and easy teacher. Ignore the negative ratings on here, he's one of my favorite professors.

I thought this was American History, all he talks about is slavery. Seriously, every lecture will contain something about slavery even if were talking about the 20th century. He puts up an outline on the overhead so your best bet is to copy that down, look up the topics in the book, and read the book. 3 Tests and a Final is your whole grade.
