Let me clear there air for those that are unsure about Dr. Luxenberg! She is by far my favorite art history professor I've ever had. Her lectures are interesting and clear to understand, but prepare to write a lot of notes! She gives a lot of information and you do have to study for the test! In the end, I would recommend taking her class!

Class lectures with slides, not super interesting but not bad. Take good notes because it's all you'll have to study for exams (which are the only grades in the class!) Sometimes took points off for stupid reasons. She's fairly nice (altho I had issues with her with leaving early for a study abroad and struggled to work with me) but nice overall

Dr. Luxenberg is extremely knowledgeable about her subject, and is unforgiving with her grades. The comments she provides on work are legitimately helpful, and helped me become a more concise writer on the subject. Her approach to encouraging class discussion is to ask questions and get miffed when no one did the reading.

Her tests are mostly analytical essay; they are not easy, but if you prepare and READ THE TEXTBOOKS, you will be fine. Know every detail and date- she expects total regurgitation of knowledge for her class. This is not an easy course, but you will learn a lot.

This woman is obnoxious. She is 'knowledgeable', but blandly lectures the entirety of class and leaves no room for further discussion or questions. She isn't helpful at all, is disorganized, and sparks no interest for those who want to enjoy her class. Attendance mandatory and tests are majority essay form- VERY unforgiving with grades. Be warned.

I took Rococo to Reform and it was awesome. Definitely one of my favorite classes in the department. The course is challenging, but if you are interested in European art it is worthwhile. Just be prepared to take a lot of notes and do not neglect your readings.

This class is pretty difficult, so I wouldn't recommend it unless you have to take art history for your major. READ THE BOOK! There are few slide IDS, mostly short essays on the test. Knowing dates is a must! She does get correction-happy, but is fair in her grading. I learned A LOT in this class.

Dr. Luxenberg is a very good professor; this also means that her courses are very difficult. My fellow students were surprised by their grades, but they shouldn't have been. Dr. Luxenberg demands that her students actually learn the material.

She is extremely difficult and doesn't like any form of class participation during her lectures which take up the entire class period. Most students think they have good writing skills until they take a course from her.
