Professor Alkim is the best professor in the Electrical Engineering department at UMass Lowell period. Her lecture is very clear and inspiring, I have learned from her so many concepts and how to think critically as an engineer. Thumb up!!

She is an OK teacher. However, the course is set up for you to do poorly. 20% pop quizzes, 20% midterm, 20% project, and 40% final. She gave back midterm grade past the withdrawal period. 80% of the grade was uncertain until the midterm which is ridiculous. Again she is an OK teacher, but she has a terrible set up for the class. Prepare to work!

Provides homework and solutions at beginning of class; do these until you master them. Backed with solid math skills, it's an easy course. She is very thorough, and even did a good job of catching up a class lacking Maxwell's eqns from previous course.

I took her class in spring 2013 but i enjoyed the challenges she through at us. She seems to be a smart, but i some time questioned her material. I later realized that she was using prof Kaluri's material from early 2000.

One of the very few teachers who doesn't just throw formulas at you and give you a calculator. Be prepared to use your mind and theory to derive all fundamentals, the more you know about a subject the more you can do with it. Professor Alkim is amazing at what she does and if you put in the work, you will walk away with something more.

The #1 professor I've ever met! Prof. Akyurltu is very clear about the stuff she wants you to know and succeed. She challenges you to make sure you understand the class. You need to spend a lot of time to succeed in her class, but it's worth it!!! One of not many classes that I actually enjoyed!

Be prepared to work your butt off for this class. Not only is Emag 2 a demanding course, but prof. Akyurtlu expects you to remember equations and derive formulas on all exams. Did I mention that she gives pop quizzes and does not allow calculators? She knows the theory like the back of her hand and conveys the material very well. Awesome Class A+++

I'm currently taking Emag 2 with her. She is a very good professor but can have an attitude. She is a tough one. Pop quizzes, no calculator and formula sheets in the tests. Be expected to derive every one of the 100's of formulas!

Maybe it was because she is prego, but I found this class a chore. She was rude during office hours, didn't even look up at me when I entered the room and greeted her, she just said "what". Very tough grader, watched her grade finals and she flew through peoples test that took them hours to take. Accurate grading is impossible at that speed. Sux

i bet she wrote most of these reviews. extremely unhelpful. god help you if she is your advisor. she resented me because i had someone else take the advising hold off of my account. i asked her if i could take one extra credit this semester, and she called the head of the EE department, just to make sure i didnt go over her head again.

Excellent professor, cute too. If you DO NOT mention it, she usually drops the lowest Exam. Its in YOUR best interest to find someone who took this class before and get the exams! They DO NOT CHANGE. Very important study guide, or memorization tool. This will guaratee at least a B. Do the Homeworks for an A. A+ Professor!
