Lectures the whole time with no slides and rambles on about off topic things so you never know what notes to take. Your grade is based off 3 tests and theyre really hard. Wouldnt recommend anyone take this class with him. Hes nice but very old and his lectures are boring and hard to follow.

Your grade depends on two exams: two midterm and a final and he drops the lowest score. All tests are 33 question multiple choice which sounds nice but the amount of (irrelevant) information he throws at you is not really worth it. get another professor.

Sleeman has a good sense of humor but is super boring during lectures. He talks a lot and uses his own book to teach the class. The tests are multiple choice but tend to have the same answer more than once so it's confusing. I highly recommend taking a different teacher and if you can't, show up to all of Allan's lectures and read his commentaries.

The class isn't too bad. As long as you read a couple of his commentaries each week and write down the questions and answers on each of the commentaries to study for the quizzes, you should be fine. Being able to answer all the questions will prepare you for the two quizzes.

Sleeman is really nice and he definitely knows what he is talking about. He curves the grades a lot which is really nice, you can easily pass without a ton of studying. He wrote the "textbook" posted online which was alright but not super helpful. Be ready to take a lot of notes in class and to draw a lot of graphs. Overall it's a good course.

Allan is an old British man who has a serious passion for economics. His lectures can get boring, but he is pretty good about giving breaks. He only has 3 tests that are 33 multiple choice questions, and no homework other than reading his lengthy, wordy online textbook.

Allan is an okay teacher. I didn't do very well with such heavy lecture and reading his online "textbook". The class is only out of 66 points so you need to study

Sleeman is a grandfatherly professor with a British sense of humor. His slightly sarcastic personality is so funny and he makes what could potentially be a boring subject interesting. 3 exams total, lowest score is dropped, and he recommends only coming to the final if you are unhappy with your combined grade from the 2 midterms. Would take again!

decent amount of reading in his online "textbook" that he wrote himself, but this is your only homework besides studying. the lectures simply reinforce concepts from his book, so you get the same info explained twice. as long as you read and fully understand the material, you should be fine on the midterm and final ( the only parts of your grade!!)

UGH. First of all, I came out of the class knowing nothing about microeconomics. he uses his own website and commentaries instead of a textbook. Basically rants. had a chapter on the market of prostitution. "Slightly" sexist, "slightly" racists. I just stayed because it was the only ECON206 that worked with my schedule and i needed the class

This class was okay, Professor Sleeman is a decent lecturer, and he puts a ton of information online for students. Other than that it was a pretty boring class, but that's just Econ. The tests are really hard and make up all of your grade, but he does curve pretty fairly. He makes a couple uncomfortable jokes, but there's no textbooks.

Professor is definitely the best choice for 206 at western. His tests on always on the material he teaches in class and elaborates on in the commentaries . He has lot of interesting stories to tell, and His website(sleemanomics, com) shows you everything you need coming up to exams. He is a bit quiet, but sit close to the front and you'll be fine.

For ECON, Sleeman wasn't too bad, if you read his commentaries and show up for class (or some class) you can get by for sure. His commentaries cover everything he covers in class. He made me uncomfortable with his over thought out sexual jokes and I wanted to fall asleep most of the time during his class. Econ is his religion.

2 exams, optional final, grades on a curve. Textbook online. Sounds great, right? Wrong. Horrible professor. Lectures are all auditory, visual learners- stay clear. Ask for extra help? Get an email back saying that there is no point in getting together and that you "obviously don't understand economics." Jerkhole.

Sleeman provides no textbook/powerpoint slides. LONG lectures that drag on. Hard to pay attention during these lectures. He gets very specific about topics, but the tests are vague. Hard to know what to study. Lots of reading on his online commentaries. In order to do well, you must study A LOT.

A great teacher. Gets across info well, but it pains me to listen to him sometimes. His old fashion views and 15 year old biology (yes he brings biology into econ) is about as tolerable as you'd think it'd be. Get you gender inequality hat on!

A lot of people praise this professor, I don't see why. I struggled a lot during the class, and when I reached out for help, he called me names and disrespected me as a person. His examples are inappropriate and do not relate to the material we should be learning. Want my honest opinion? Choose a professor that doesn't "tread on another's psyche."

Delightful old man with an unusual sense of humor, he assigns 11 question MC tests once a week on the 20-45 pages of reading. No textbook but online "commentaries" a lot of people skipped class which he said was unusual. You could study the readings closely and get a good grade. Optional final and no midterm. Drops 3 of 9 quizzes.
