Comment:

I have had this teacher three times. I usually am a very good student but I dread class. I'm an advertising major so I have Dr. Goodman quite often. I only have negative things to say about her as a professor. She is a kind person, but classes are so unorganized and so much homework. Schedule and assignments are always changing. Very frustrating.

Comment:

Professor Goodman is a great person, but I think she's a bad professor. She's as unorganized as they come and often waits until the last minute to grade and forgets due dates or thinks the due dates are sooner than they're supposed to be. She has a good bit of experience in advertising, but that doesn't help when she's so unorganized.

This Class seemed insignificant. I constantly sat in class wondering why this class was required. Most FYS professors do little to nothing, but this professor seems to think she can change the world by assigning numerous homeworks. I would never take this class and i regret that i did take it.

Professor Goodman is a kind person, but she is extremely unorganized & it affects the class. She assigns a large amount of work with unclear directions and a rubric that only she apparently has access to. She told me my work was great, but gave me a 98 only because "she rarely gives 100s" (direct quote). She's also extremely hard to contact.

She is very unorganized and doesn't explain assignments clearly at all.. Then gets frustrated with you because of the work you turned in(even though its what she asked for originally).. Hard to talk to her without her giving you attitude about the questions you asked

Nice person, awful professor. Terrible at explaining assignments, never gives grades back, and is incredibly disorganized. Unless you know all of the material coming in, I'd definitely avoid because you won't learn a thing in all of the chaos.

Goodman is very nice & tries to make the internship program fun. My only complaint is that she can be unorganized. Messages aren't always answered in a timely fashion & she seems to forget stuff sometimes. However, she's still a good professor and I think she helps you if you need it.

Mrs Goodman is very nice but unorganized in her FYS. Attendance and participation are key, this class reads a few sections of a couple books and does a few projects, nothing too difficult. She's kind of a strict grader but making sure you prove you did the reading and show her you care and the class can be an easy A.

Goodman grades hard because she needs to. She teaches classes that separate the boys from the men. If you get to know her she will help you with anything. She is unorganized, yes, but she will work with you on anything you ask. I am sure the people commenting never spoke to Prof. Goodman outside of class. College means seeking help.

Doesn't explain assignments clearly and then blames students for not doing what she wanted. Will tell you you did a great job, but then give you a B or C on the assignment. Takes her forever to grade assignments and you don't really have any clue where you stand in the class until you get your final grade. Frustrating class.

I learned a lot from taking this advertising class. I came in not knowing a lot about the journalism side of advertising because I'm in graphic design. We covered just about every type of advertising and learned a little about each one. There was a lot of work involved but it was all very helpful.

She's so disorganized, and honestly she acts like she doesn't know what's going on half the time. She doesn't show up for her meetings if you schedule one with her. All in all, I didn't learn hardly anything useful in my JMC 102 class with her.

B4 I took this class, I read these reviews. After I have had Prof Goodman, I totally disagree. She is so caring! She wants everyone to do well!I have sat in her office for 45 minutes talking about one assignment. You just have to ask for help. Ask lots of questions and you will be fine. Textbooks is useful and quizes are from them.

Yes, she does grade harsh but she will literally spend hours with you if you approach her needing the help. Common, this is college, people! If you are taking this professor then you should be serious about what you do. If you can't take that, I would highly suggest you drop out.

This class seemed easy, but apparently when you get your final grade its not. And it seems like excused absenses don't matter for your class participation grade. A lot of papers, but you don't really use the text book a lot. She tries to make it interesting at least. Just go to class and ask plenty of questions or you will be confused.
