Comment:

She talks on and on and on everyday. Attendance isn't mandatory but is extra credit if you show up. She's very opinionated and she asks everyone to share their personal stories about their childhood. No point in buying the textbook. Super easy A she just talks a lot, bring work for other class to do if you decide to show up.

only had a couple tests and a final the whole semester that were so confusing and slighly bias. if you dont agree with her personal views, you're wrong. class dragged on and it was difficult to want to be there.

Loved her class! All her lectures were interesting and she left no question unanswered. She graded fairly and gave tons of opportunities for extra credit. Her TA was just as helpful!

Comment:

Class seems harder than it is. There is one quiz (10 points), one mid term (50 points + essay points), and one final (70 points + easy points) which make up the bulk of your grade. As long as your get above 132 point, you get an A. There is also an optional paper that can net you up to 40 extra points. Overall good prof, very opinionated though.

Class dragged on and was excruciatingly boring, she was very opinionated so i would recommend just going along with her opinions. Her grading system was confusing. I missed about 3 classes. Did decent on the first test, did horrible on the quiz and second exam and barely did the final assignment but i still got an A in the class so i cant complain

She has a really confusing point system of 1-130 in terms of grading. She only provides one quiz and two exams throughout the entire semester. She begs the class for our own childhood experiences, but quickly puts it down when it doesn't match up with her own research findings. She reads off a powerpoint for all her lectures.

She seems to view her research pursuits as more important than her teachermentor role, and gives her own opinionexperience a lot. Then she'll ask you for your personal experiences but dismiss them if they don't match the theory being discussed which bothered me. That said, if you take notes & listen in class you'll get an A. Tests are a breeze.

she teaches her opinion &there aren't many things to be graded on. her whole grading system is weird&i her study guide for the 2 exams sucks. i think i only did good on the first exam was bc i had taken psych classes before. i would not take her again as going to class was torture&had to drag myself to go. she sometimes took attendance.

Although McCabe obviously enjoyed the subject very much, she tended to force her opinions on students. I found myself studying her opinion more than actual fact. She can be easy, but other than her notes (which are confusing) you are pretty much on your own for this class. There are about 3 tests and one essay (for the HN class). Good luck.

Despite some instances in which she is quite opinionated, Professor McCabe showed great interest in the subject. During class, she uses slides and emphasizes important concepts. For the Honors section, there was 1 quiz, 2 exams, some response articles, and an observation paper. I really enjoyed this class and subject!

She is the absolute worst professor I have ever had. DO NOT TAKE HER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. The way she graded is not at all fair and she plays favorites. She teaches her OPINION, not fact, and I can honestly say I did not learn a single thing in this class whatsoever. If you disagree with her opinion, you're screwed.
