Comment:

Yilma is a very sweet lady. It can be difficult to understand her during lectures because of her heavy accent, so you have to really pay attention to what she's saying. She is always willing to help if you need it. She's not the best at teaching the material, so you'll really depend on your group to study.

Comment:

Yilma is such a genuinely sweet and kind person, she will help you if you need it and is always excited to talk about biology. She just did not teach this course well. She does have a heavy accent, something I am usually okay with, but the material lectured on was not reflected in the tests. It was hard to do well without the tools to do it with.

Professor Sebhatu (Yilma) is a sweet lady, no doubt. I hate to be rude about anyone but she is just not a good professor. She does not teach, she talks and talks and talks and TALKS. She is very confusing and I have never been is a class where I can say I learned NOTHING, yet was unfairly tested on concepts we werent taught. Not good for bio 151

Overall she is a very nice person and she has a very strong accent that you will probaly get use to by the end of the semester. BUT she is very very boring and her lectures are redundant. Her test are kinda hard even with the study guide. I liked her as a person just not her class.

Professor Yilma is from Ethiopia and is hard to understand at times with her accent. If you can understand her she is a knowledgeable professor who really likes the students that show interest in biology. She is always friendly and smiling. Her lectures are quite redundant though, and she can get boring. Overall a moderately easy class. Use manual.

She is the sweetest professor I've met at Winthrop and I wish she would teach every class. If you show how much you care about your grade and the class, she will do anything to help you out. Don't be a slacker in the class, actually try. The class is kind of difficult but nothing you can't manage with help from the teacher and tutoring.

Professor Yilma is so sweet and she really tries to help but she is very difficult to understand. You will get used to her accent once the semester goes on, but it is difficult at first. Her class is very easy but you must study for the tests! It is essential. She gives you a study guide and as long as you know that, you will be just fine.

This lab class was pretty interesting. You do a lot of group work so make sure you sit with people who are going to actually work. She isn't American and has an accent so it is sometimes difficult to understand. She's really nice and cares about her students. Study labs as study guides for the exams along with the guide she gives you.

Best professor at Winthrop University! All professors should be like her. She is a fair grader, wants everyone to do well, and cares about her students. I used to hate Biology but I love this class and would probably take another class with her if I could. I am going to miss her next semester. A+++++ professor. Take her if you can!

Prof. Yilma is honestly one of the nicest ladies I have ever met and she really enjoys teaching, but I could not understand an thing she said. She is from Ethiopia and her accent and use of sentence structure when speaking is extremely confusing. Although if you need help with anything she will help as much as possible.

She is a very sweet woman, but her accent makes it IMPOSSIBLE to understand what she is trying to say. She wants to help answer questions BUT she is extremly lengthy and normally doesn't even answer the question b/c she just repeats what she said in the start. Talks too much! But i would take her, its an easy class just have to do work on your own.

She's a nice lady but, she rambles, it's a small class, and she's from ethiopia so you can't understand her. Her tests only reflect the study guide she gives you by like 40%.. rest are curve balls. Sweet lady, but definately not my first choice.

She's hard to understand at first but it gets easier over time if you listen. She does require a little bit too much work for a 1 credit class, but most of it is relatively easy if you try. Mrs. Yilma is a sweet and interesting lady and very easy to get along with. I would recomend her to anyone who needs to take BIOL 151.
