Comment:
He's a great prof and explains things very clearly step by step in lectures, and answer any questions you have. That being said ELEC353 is a very tough course, and you'll have to work for it. He's a tough grader and the biweekly quizzes are hard. He'll purposely throw curveballs at you to test your knowledge, but most of it is fair game.

Al is a great instructor who really understands electronics, and explains things in a step by step way that makes sense and helps you understand the subject. You do have to work for your grade, but he tests what he teaches and provides tons of resources and practise problems.

I absolutely hated him in 252, but he was a completely different person in 353. Crazy hard material. you really need to study hard for his class. But he really does want students to succeed, he just doesn't want them to think this course is easy! I would 100% recommend following the textbook and working from there with this notes. Do the hw too!!

If you achieved a 100% grade in each of this course's prerequisites, you might have a fighting chance. This course is hard, even when you have a good professor. If I can say one good thing, it's this: don't worry! You're in good company. Don't get me wrong, Al seems like a great guy to grab a beer with...I just don't think he's a capable prof.

Comment:
Teaches the course with a very high degree of difficulty. You either fully understand the material and do well or you will likely do very poorly in the course. Quizzes, midterms and finals are very tough and you really need to understand everything to even pass. Professor is very condescending and doesn't care. Failing marks are likely.

Comment:
Although this is an introductory electronics course, he teaches it like we've seen this stuff before. Examples in lecture tend to be very simple, and then quizzes and midterms are nearly impossible. Super condescending, and explanations and solutions are pretty poor. Tutorials are absolutely garbage and useless. Learning from textbook is essential.
