Her class was interesting yet we sort of got behind schedule, so we had to fly through some stuff. There are four parts to the midterm/final: identification (5), vocab, a comparative short essay, and an essay. Not too hard, but still need to study. Go to class because the notes on blackboard don't tell everything you need to know in the lecture.

She's a very easy grader and very nice/energetic. The tests are easy as long as you either read the text or pay attention to her lectures. She got a week or two behind on the syllabus and that was kind of frustrating, but overall she was fine.

Everything on the test was also in the book. She put her notes and slides online. Expect you to known name, place it was made, date it was made, and material, and to desciribe it's importance. most of the identifications were super easy, things you had heard/seen before taking art history.

Took this class a while ago, but I really liked her. About the paper- she leaves it open-ended so you can persue your own interests, but the rewuirements were clearly outlined in the syllabus. Also, she was keen to have rough drafts and help, and answer questions.

For Buddhist art - she is an authority on the subject and wrote her thesis on it, so it's like being taught by the person who wrote the articles. She has opinions on everything and it's really interesting. Pretty funny and easygoing, and waayyy more interesting a class than I thought it would be.

She always stops and makes sure ALL questions are answered (even ones when teh reading was clearly not done), offers to meet students, makes accomodations, and her syllabus clearly outlines all assignments. And her lectures have a sense of humor!

She requires a paper for her class, but she doesn't give you many instructions on it, so you have a lot of questions to ask. Then she won't remember something and says it doesn't matter, but it may come up on the exam. she isn't really there for her students most of all. She's really ambiguous.

I'd never taken an art history class until this one, and I absolultey love it. Professor Guyton is very enthusiastic and makes it very clear what she expects. If I wasn't graduating in 2 months (woohoo!) I would definitely take another class with her.
