Professor Starnes is an adorable person and an interesting and respectable lecturer. She is engaging and keeps class entertaining, so the mandatory attendance is not a bother. Would highly recommend the class for a freshman seminar and I am considering taking CVA to have Dr. Starnes again.

Super sweet lady. Honestly reminded me of a 1st grade teacher, I mean that in the best way. She's intelligent and caring as well. That being said, lecture exams were extremely trying. You have to know all details as many questions are multiple multiple choice style, but nothing on the exams is unreasonable at all.

The most engaging, enthusiastic professor I've ever had. It's a shame CVA is the only course she teaches. Just don't let yourself burn out from the intense memorization required for the lab exams and lecture tests! Definitely a class you need to study for a little bit everyday to do well.

Best bio prof at Emory. The first day of class you walk in and she already knows everyone's name and major. She whittles down the minuscule details into crystal clear lectures that make your studying simpler. Very accessible and pushes everyone to do well. I don't know how she's so excited to teach everyday. Gah I wish she'd teach every bio course.

After graduating undergrad, she is the BEST teacher/professor in my WHOLE LIFE. She's so nice, amazing lecturer, so accessible and easy to talk to, & inspired me to be a professor. If you're reading this, I just want you to know you changed my life thank you Dr. Starnes! Fair grader-like any anatomy class you need to study to do well.

Probably the best professor I've taken my four years at Emory. She's amazing and truly cares about her students. As long as you come to class, takes very GOOD notes (she will test you on the smallest details), and work hard, you're guaranteed an A. The extra credit projects will definitely save your butt from a few mistakes on the exam.

Literally one of the best humans on the planet. Dr. Starnes is an amazing person, professor, and advisor. I can't speak highly enough of her. Lectures are not uploaded online, so you must go to class. (Yes 8 am sucks but she's amazing so it's worth it).

Starnes is hands down the best professor I have ever had. The class is VERY organized which helps tremendously for exams. Lecture exams are tough... depends a lot on categories and examples but again, the organization of her class prepares you for it. Extra credit presentations took up 40% of the semester. Hard class but worth it in the end! :)

If you come to class, take good notes (better yet, record the lecture) and come to the lab review sessions, you will do great. She will do everything she can to help you, but you need to put in the effort (of course!). My favorite class & professor at Emory! Dr. Starnes is absolutely wonderful!! A lot of work (& memorization), but not a hard class.

She is an an absolutely amazing professor. The class is difficult, but she successfully keeps the interest of the class and articulates the concepts in a succinct fashion. The mandatory lab is at times boring, but warms up in the second half once dissections begin. I would highly recommend both her and the class.

She is quite possibly the best professor I have ever had, and I am a graduating senior. Knowledgeable, articulate, friendly, and extremely approachable.She knows her stuff and has her own unique way of helping others understand the material. She is one of a kind, and this is a must take science class. She breaks the mold of lame science professors.

Although there's a lot of information for anatomy, she explains everything as clearly as possible is very organized. Tests are a bit tricky, but she's a very fair grader and I definitely recommend her!
