Professor Sen seems like a great guy, however, his teaching style was not for me. He does not use power points or writes on the board, so your notes are very limited. He will say one thing in class and then expect something the next class, so it is very hard to understand what he is asking for. Good luck knowing your grade, he doesn't use canvas.

Took this class online. Homework was about 6-8 hours per week. Tests were loosely based on homework, but questions would try to trick you. Additional, time limit of 5 hours for each exam was not enough given the questions that were presented.

Dr. Sen is an amazing professor. He definitely has a passion for Economics so it was fun learning from him. He responds really well if you show some interest in Economics. You have to put in work for this class, but it is worth it. I came out of the class knowing so much more and was able to apply it to my career. Great professor.

I took this class online and regret it. Might be different in class... Do not take! The homework takes hours to do. He at least lets you redo them when you get a 50% because he grades you like you're an eco major and not just a gen ed. The tests take forever and you don't see the questions in the homework or notes. I spent too much time on this.

Dr. Sen is an awesome professor! You will learn a lot. You do have to work pretty hard, and there is weekly homework. The homework reflects some of the questions you will see on the exam. He is a tough grader, but is fair. I highly recommend this class!

Professor Sen undoubtedly cares about his students, but unfortunately the way he presents material can be a bit confusing. I would say 60%-70% of the class was confused every week (based on verbal and facial reactions). Overall, you'll put in a lot of work and look back and think: "I'm not sure I learned much" May want to consider alternatives

Prof. Sen doesn't come out and present the material but instead encourages students to develop an understanding on the underlying concepts behind the material. His class involves a lot of work as he has in class, lab, and homework assignments. Make sure you take good in-class notes and have all your assignments perfect before tests and should be fi

The greatest professor I have ever had. Cycles and forecasting was an extremely hard class but he broke everything down in a concise manner that made the class understand it. Genuinely cares about his students and will sit down with you and stay there until he knows you grasp the concepts. Very personal and accessible.

Sen is the best, really one of Xavier's finest professors. He is ALWAYS available to help, even if it means he comes in early or stays later to meet with you. He is also crazy understanding of our lives, he even changed our midterm date so we could all go see the basketball team play in the NCAA tournament. Take him for a class, you won't regret it

I have never rated a professor, but I liked him so much I had to. By far the best professor I've had at XU. Always willing to help, and actually made my most dreaded class exciting. Definitely take for ECON.

Dr. Sen is an awesome professor! He takes a complex subject and breaks it down so that it is easy to understand. I finished his class with a B+ and I feel that I didn't do a lot in his class. There is a weekly assignment of about 8 problems, two mid-terms, and a final. Tests are hard, but he gives partial credit. TAKE HIM! HE'S A GREAT PROF!

Dr. Sen is a very nice man who really wants to see his students do well. If you need any type of help, he will give it willingly (and I think factor the extra effort into your grade). His class would have benefited greatly from a better text, but it was a new class to Xavier, so it was understandable. SAS is the devil but he always helped so much.

Dr. Sen did a superb job of teaching the material and assisting students in learning. Had a good presentation style. But he often lost control of class and allowed irrelevant discussion. Exams were quite difficult with respect to the homework and lecture we did. Overall, a good professor who will help you out, but be prepared for a few curveballs!!

Went way too fast with lectures and assigned far too much homework for a graduate class. Most of the class periods were used reviewing everyone's confusion on homework. He is clearly a career academic and is teaching a class to businesspeople with real time contraints and different backgrounds. He is clearly intellegent and tried to help.

Exceptional class! This was my first MBA class and it spoiled me, no boring power-point droning here. He was great at explaining the concepts with real-world examples and very helpful. Exams are straight-forward if you do the homework and give the effort on in-class assignments.
