Dr. McMillian is an amazing woman who truly cares about her students and whether or not they understand the subject being taught. Reading may get hard to understand, especially in the book "Behave" but if you take notes and ask questions, she will help. Not too many assignments but also a fair amount to have a decent grade. Great Professor. Shes a tough grader. Hw quizzes are due before class every week and the last month of the semester is ALL lab presentations so do not wait last minute to do it all. She seats you in groups and switches group after every exam. Never miss a class because she does count attendance.

Dr. Mcmillian is an amazing professor. be prepared genetics will be the hardest class you have probably taken so far. I have to say i don't think i ever learned more in a class. HW is a quiz due before every class and they take at least an hour to do well on. Presentations are hard but help with grades. attendance is mandatory. Be prepared to work

Learns everyone's name, is genuine. Answers emails asap. Explains class material clearly & well especially in office hours. Lots of group work. Way too many assignments, especially in the final 2-3 weeks of class. Class requires a lot of time & practice & is tailored twrd students who don't know how to study so there's HW due almost every class.

1st day of class she advises that if you work, to either drop the course or quit your job. She gives an exam one week before the final exam on material that she half teaches. Quizzes due 3-4x per week. And on top of the two exams within the last two weeks of the course, she assigns 4 oral presentations all due within the last month of the course.

Fantastic teacher! Like many other comments, she is REALLY tough, but she usually teaches upper lv BIO so... As long as you put in the effort and show her your really trying you'll do alright. Her office door is almost always open and she is easily approachable if you have questions (you should) or concerns. One of Buff State's finest.

PHI300/BIO389 Biology, Values, and Society will never be offered again, so you should be sorry you missed it. Best class ever. More relevantly, McMillan is a great teacher, knows her stuff, fun and funny, definitely take classes with her.

The first exam I got a D-. I put in for a pass/fail, and then actually applied myself and ended up with a B+, so I cancelled my pass/fail. She's smart, consistant and enjoys her works. I have not met a more consistant teacher. If you work you will pass. If you sluff off, you will fail. Simple as that.
