I've never had a professor who cares so much for his students. He would bend over backwards to help anyone who needed it. He's a passionate musician and composer which is translated in the way he teaches.

I have never met a teacher who took such an interest in his students. He was always curious of the work students were doing outside of class and felt strongly that the students passions should be recognized within the classroom. He still checks up on many students he has not had in years. Amazing.

Drew is sweet and has a pleasant sense of humor. He was a poor facilitator of seminar and didn't use classroom time wisely.

Buchman was the worst teacher I have ever experienced. Although he is knowledgable about his subject he is also not emotionally stable. Who knows, though, he may have recovered from these issues to become an effective teacher. Buchman's evaluation of me was subjectively slanted to give a negative view of me and demonstrates his personal issues.

Andy was a fabulous teacher, and all too eager to help me find my bearings in his class, and his energy with his topic made it impossible not to kindle a passion for music myself.

If Evergreen had a teacher of the year, it would be Andrew Buchman. He loves music, and more importantly, he loves his students.

My student evaluation, a document which becomes part of my permanent record, was not done on the proper college-required form, but was on a xeroxed handwritten form of his creation! His "evaluation" of your performance is just him circling prewritten generalized comments on his xeroxed form, not actually writing a detailed synopsis of you. SUB PAR!

Andy has rocked my world. As a disillusioned music major he has really brought to light what it means to make music! Would take his class again if I was not graduating.

Nice person, so-so teacher. Andy is somewhat absent minded (as others have said) and often goes off topic while lecturing.

Andy is a great teacher. He's slightly unorganized and doesn't always communicate his requirements, but he wants people to learn and will bend over backwards to help you do so. His love for music shines through everything he does.

Andrew is a great person and musician, and was incredibly helpful when asked. He is an absent-minded teacher, however, and frequently lost control of his seminar group.

Andy, is...entertaining. He's very absent-minded and can ramble on about nothing for forever. he laughs at everything. i mean everything-including burning his lip on his tea the other day. even when you disagree with him in class he just laughs. not the worst, but not the best.

I like Andy as a person, he's got a sense of humor & a laughable laugh. As a teacher however he has a tendency to be absent-minded & kinda airy. The music portion of this program is... simple. 4 years of self-taught study cause me to be beyond bored with our curriculum. 123 notation? please.

Had him for Intro to Performing Arts in 1993. I tend to disagree. I though he was amiable and very willing to give credit for what other profs might consider irrelavant independent projects. Gave me four credits for recording my own band. Can't beat that!

Worst teacher I have had in 17 years of education. Avoid at all costs; ask anyone in From Page to Stage, 1999.
