I took REL320 my junior year and it was by far the most difficult class I have ever taken, though I enjoyed Dr. Das as a person- he was not necessarily the best teacher. You must ask tons of questions if you are unsure and you also have to pay attention. I would not have passed otherwise.

Painful to listen to Dr Das - loves the sound of his own voice. And its like students are his adversaries and tests and lectures are a competitive sport. hes just not a good teacher but he thinks he is. Avoid Dr Das

I'm a religious studies major and this class was near impossible. I do not recommend at all! He is rather pompous and acts like he's teaching doctoral students, not undergrad. Tests are ridiculously hard and tricky. I would end up getting like 60% on every test, which was then curved to be like an 84 or something. Bad experience and boring material

This class was the hardest class I have ever taken in my whole college experience and I am a junior. The questions on the exams are given ahead of time but don't even make sense. You don't get full points on essay exams when you memorize the answers you need to go into detail about them. Pretty sure school is unaware of how hard the class is.

Probably my fav professor at EC. I would definitely take a class with him again! I didnt know much going into the class, but I felt like a religion major after completing the course!Lots of reading but just write down what he says & show up to review sessions. At review sess he tells you exactly what to write in order to get an A on test. easy clas

Dr. Das is very knowledgeable and it shows. He has a mastery of the Bible, and ancient languages and writings in general. However, I think he forgets not everyone else in quite on his level when it comes to the subject matter.

Das assigns SO much reading, like his class is the only one you're taking. You have to go to class or else you won't understand a thing, and even then it's super hard. I get that it's a 300 level, but it shouldn't have been that heavy of a load. He's a nice guy, but he talks too fast and is unaware how difficult his class is.

Very intelligent professor. Let's you know exactly what is going to be on the exam (essay format). I enjoy going to his class, learning about chronology of Paul according to Acts and then a chronology according to Paul's letters. He uses his knowledge to teach you and is always willing to ask questions! I suggest asking questions!

Das is the most intelligent professor at Elmhurst. But at the same time, he is one of the hardest. DO NOT TAKE AS A GEN ED!!!! This was my HARDEST class and it was only for a gen en requirement. At the same time, you learn a lot from him. RECORD LECTURES, TAKE NOTES, STUDY STUDY STUDY, READ THE BIBLE and you will be okay but it's NOT a blow off

Das is easily one of the smartest people that I know. His sections are more work than most, but don't be afraid to sign up for his class. You'll learn the most and be the most engaged in his class for sure. He keeps class fun and is the most helpful professor I've had at Elmhurst.

Awesome teacher. I didn't know anything about religion before I entered this class and I still did well. Das is a good teacher and he is really funny so it keeps class interesting. I learned a lot from his class and as long as you prepare for the tests getting an A shouldn't be a problem!

Dr. Das is always willing to help his students when they ask. There's no secret to his essay exams and is even willing to take a look at your practice ones to make sure you didn't miss anything. He talks quite fast when he gets excited about a topic...which is everything. Difficult to grasp sometimes but such a fun class to be in.Would do it again.

Dr. Das is passionate about the material he teaches. If you procrastinate, don't like to study, don't like to write, then don't take his class. Take basket weaving instead. If you like a challenge, Dr. Das' class is a lot of fun.

Hardest teacher ever. He talks 5 miles a minute. The only way you will pass this class is if you record his lectures then memorize what he says for the ESSAY tests. SUPER HARD I dont reccommend him at ALL.

Das is a nice guy, his lectures were lengthy & complex but he gives you the info you need. The class is tough. He stresses writing a ton of notes but that's not enough. Buy a tape recorder. His tests are all essay and they're really challenging even though you get the questions in advance. Write all over your bible & study hard - DONT PROCRASTINATE
