As I was preparing to graduate he gave me a very tough time. Wasnt respectful in how he approached the review of my credits. It was quite some time ago but he certainly made me feel less than.

Comment:

His class is pretty easy if you work throughout the classes and do not save studying until last minute. I would recommend him if you are willing to work and challenge yourself as a student. He also teaches you things outside of Bio. Remember, Mitosis is nuclear division, 1 nuclei produces 2 daughter nuclei with no change in chromosome # :).

Do not take his class. I have never needed to withdraw from a class before and I had to for this class. His exams are tough, deducts 15 points for penmanship (what are we in 3rd grade). I studied for a week straight and got 50 with a 20 point curve. The class failed the 2nd exam and he called and told you to drop out.

Comment:

Best professor at Rutgers Newark. His lectures are clear & straightforward. Exams are easy if you study & learn the material. He is strict, but if you attend class, learn the material as you go along & study, it's an easy A. It helps to record & relisten to his lectures. You will dedicate most of your time to this class, so only take if needed.

Plant Bio with Kasper can be scary and demanding. But if you are taking this class, you will be prepared for General Horticulture with almost any professor. He makes sure you know everything in class and teaches you ways to remember it all. You do have to put in the time and he's picky, but if you show him you're trying, he'll cut you some slack

Honestly, I think he is one of the best college professors at rutgers. He wants you to learn and work effortlessly in his class. Although he enforces the rules to a greater extent, I felt that I was able to learn more through Mr. Kasper. The course is composed of just 3 exams. Just take good notes and participate and youll do fine

Definitely one of the best prof u will ever meet.He IS the man! As for the course, it is HARD. He makes it hard he makes you work and it's annoying. You WILL end up dropping other courses for this, or failing them.You will work more for this course than all your others combined. He's a great teacher, and defintely taught me that college is more than just getting the grades. His class is boring but he tries to keep it interesting. No required reading but you need to pay attention in class. Only 3 exams, hard if you don't study, real easy if you do. Recommend!!

If you like professors who are intimidating and who like to talk about their life for half the class he is the guy for you. He is very strict about stupid things and likes to make you feel stupid if you make any little mistake.When he is done with being a cranky old man, he is very knowledgable in the subject.

I took him for Plant Kingdom a few years ago and he was arrogant. But that's what makes him interesting. He always had stories to tell about his wife and kids! Yes he bashes every other professor since he is the "best" professor in the world. Take good notes and you'll be fine. He tells you what to study for the Final. Very straight forward!

Andrew Kasper is an absolutely wonderful Professor.I had an enjoyable time in his class. If you take notes, study them along with the Labs, you should get an A in this class. For this class spelling counts, so does your penmanship.He may seem disrespectful but bite the bullet and look further and you'll see that he is indeed a wonderful Professor.

Demanding, intense teacher (the kind that tells you to drop a class or two when taking his) that can be fairly condescending with his students. Overall, he is a decent teacher, knowledgeable, well-spoken, with a sense of humor. Tests are tough and long. Overall, if Plant bio is an integral part of your major, he's good; for all others, avoid.

He is a great professor and teacher. He is one of the few professors who will actually teach the course material step by step. If you go to class and take notes you will rarely need to use the text. He's energetic and keeps the class awake with jokes but stays on topic. Nice personality and fair.

I took Basic Plant Science. Kasper is not bad at all if you are a seriouse student. He knows his stuff and his exams are easy if you study. The lazy ones complain and end up with a poor grade or drop the class. I got an 'A'
