Fantastic professor. Really cares about the students. His assignments are difficult but it pushed me to be a better student and i learned so much because of it. Also makes bomb homebaked bread.

I took the COR301 and enjoyed it fun for someone with an interest in bio and he was very knowledgeable about a lot of subjects pretty easy going and seemed like he was enjoying himself and enjoyed what he does we head to read a lot but the books were interesting and most assignments were pretty easy take if you like bio

Dr. Koch is an incredible professor. This fall I had him for both Core 301 and Orgo 1, and in both he was always extremely knowledgeable, comfortable with the material, and motivated to help us improve. I was terrified to take organic before I started the course, and now afterwards I'm pursuing biochem/chem because I liked it so much. He's great!!!

Dr. Koch was an excellent teacher for Organic Chemistry 1 & 2, although for some reason much better at teaching Orgo 1. It is often expected to learn more than what is said in lecture in order to succeed on the quizzes. The tests, however, I found to be easier than expected every time. He's a decent teacher, definitely the best/easiest at SMCM.

Had him for core107, orgo, and now MO Theory. He is the best teacher I've ever had at St. Mary's and a great adviser. Very friendly and approachable. If it wasn't for his willingness to spend hours helping us outside of class I would have never gotten through a difficult subject like orgo.

Dr. Koch is the most incredible Professor I've ever had. He is the one that made Organic Chemistry into what I want to do with my career. Koch is a great teacher, but you need to put time into studying and learning the material. Organic Chemistry is tough, but there is no better person to take it with than Koch.

by far my favorite professor I've ever had. He made me enjoy organic chemistry- He goes out on a limb to help students- he's SO approachable..he's clear when explaining difficult concepts. Honestly, I have nothing but good things to say about this guy. HE'S GREAT. If you have the chance- take him for orgo.

Dr. Koch is a REALLY awesome teacher. He is very good at explaining difficult concepts (of which there are plenty in orgo). Review sessions were very helpful, and tests were fairly difficult, but always graded fairly. If you have to take orgo, you won't be dissapointed if you take him :)

This guy is the absolute best at teaching organic chemistry. He is very clear at explaining had concepts, and going to review sessions are very helpful. Tests and quizzes weren't too bad, but the final exam was really hard. If you have to take orgo, take him, he's really awesome:)

Greatest Lab instructor ever!!! He makes lab so interesting, and is always willing to help. I would HIGHLY recommend him for orgo lab/lecture. He didn't teach lecture this semester...oh well. Best quote: I'll put a pacemaker in you and make you hug the NMR!!!

the best teacher i ever had. really motivates students...easily made the hardest class at SMCM do-able and interesting. has a passion for what he does. go to class and read before class and you can master his topics. tests reflect quizzes.
