He is so passionate about French and don't worry if you've NEVER done French before he will bring you up to speed do your part he definitely does his. Participation grade counts, he has flashcards with names of students so don't think you can just sit and not say a word in his class. DO THE EXTRA assignments he gives, he likes it & it will pay off

He is a very kind and helpful prof. He'll always answer emails and take time outside of class to help you. He is passionate about french & wants his students to succeed. The textbook and attendance is MANDATORY. You are learning a new language so be prepared to pay attention in class & take time outside of class to study and tests wont be too hard

Professor Osborn was my favourite prof by far. You can tell he cares about his students and was always willing to give extra help to students who needed it. He uses the textbook for every class, so you definitely need it.

I absolutely loved Andrew Osborne as a prof. No notes but the textbooks are rarely easy to follow along with so you don't have to worry about the lack of notes as long as you study from the text. His tests are fair and whenever i asked for extra exercises, he would email me at least 3-4 per unit.

His lectures DO NOT facilitate notetaking. The textbook is actually a workbook, which he will only read and expect you to know the material. NO room for writing anything down. He will call out names to answer homework, and he won't be super helpful with explaining his expectations on ANY of his tests. Most people I know have been getting Cs. Bad.

The only and most thing i hat about this prof is that it barely write anything in the board!! no writing on the board, no slides!!! Can you handle a course where its prof who teaches grammar verbally all the time without using any slides or class board??? if yes, then this kind prof is for you.

You will learn a lot in his classes. He is very clear and classes run at a good pace. He is an extremely fair grader and tests are always on material covered, no surprises. He demands your full attention and will call you out for texting in class which I loved. He is the top French grammar instructor at the university.

He is a wonderful professor, hard marker but very fun to listen to and easy to approach for help. He breaks down things so you can understand what the text book is saying. He gives plenty of opportunities to increase your marks and gives a reasonable amount of homework. I highly recommend him!

I'm a 4th year french major, and the two courses i took with him were my favourites. Best prof I've had in university. His explanations are clear and precise, class moves at the perfect pace. They're grammar courses so the subject matter isn't the most fascinating but he manages to make it less dull. Fair grader. Very willing to give extra help.

FAV PROF BY FAR!!! Very encouraging & kind. "My door is always open" he says. He's very approachable and more than willing to help. Amazing French teacher. I learned more French in 1152 & 1154 than I did my entire high school career. Lectures are long, but he keeps them entertaining and interactive! He always makes it clear what you'll be tested on

This prof is a life saver! He is auch a great teacher in class. I got a 59 in my first test but after his help i got 80 . He is a tough marker but it makes sense. Best french prof ever!

Amazing prof! So helpful and very approachable! He even offers to go over your lit assignments with you before you hand them in! So take advantage of it! He doesn't allow cell phone use in class but makes sense, its a language course and you need to pay attention in class. Will be taking more classes with him!

Really helpful if you have questions, but classes are boring. Textbooks every class heavily, classes feel random. Didn't really feel like I had learned that much at the end. A lot of memorization, a very technical class. Kind of treats you like a little kid if you get the answer wrong, even though he's probably trying to make sure you understand.

Friendly guy, but I found his class dull. The class dwelled on nitpicky topics and rushed over things you may not have touched upon in high school French. He's insanely helpful if you have any questions, but I always found myself bored. Very by-the-book lessons, and the books are ludicrously expensive, by the way. He has a strong anglophone accent.

meh, he wasn't a "bad" prof, but not awesome either. He kind of treated us like we were in elementary school, though. No texting, no using laptops, pay attention, now it's your turn to read this paragraph. Again, not terrible by any means, but just .. meh .

I had no knowledge about french at all and my first language isn't even English. This prof is very good at teaching and extremely helpful. He's not tolerant with people coming in late or not being prepared for class so just be on time and do the homework. Overall A+ prof.

A truly amazing prof. He keeps things interesting with his humor and he is VERY informative about what you need to study and what you don't. He is very understanding, being an anglophone himself so I found that he was able to describe things in a way I could understand it better. I recommend him 100% and I will be taking more of his classes as well
