This is a very difficult class. The professor is nice and great, but the material for this class is very abstract and exams are challenging

He is a great professor, very approachable, and makes the material a lot more interesting with his lecturing style. His exams are pretty hard. 2 MT each worth 40%, MC and short answer and you have to be prepared to know pretty much every detail, some from lecture and some from the text so beware. Overall really enjoyed this class!

Definitely an excellent professor. He explains difficult concepts really well, his lectures are engaging, and he is super kind. Go to class and study for his exams and you'll be fine! This is a great class to take if you're interested in memory,

first of all, this class is super intimidating. class & lab are basically mandatory if you want any understanding of the slides. take notes on the slides, lectures are DENSE. also flashcards for basically everything. tests are 20 m/c (50%) other half free response. my TA graded leniently. makeup tests 100% f/r. would recommend

First of all Yonelinas is a nice man and a wonderful professor. TA Felix was great too. However, this class is so hard. I was baffled at how much we are expected to know for exams. You need to know roughly 9 lectures for each exam and they are PACKED with dense material. I was miserable all quarter because of how badly this class stressed me out.

I took it in Fall 2015 and the class average was C+/B-. It was 20% Quiz(during weekly discussions), 40% one midterm, 40% final. I got an A but had to work really hard for it. Don't miss his lectures or discussions. Also, GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS. He was very helpful and even gave hints on what will be on the test if you showed up to his office hours.

The class was very interesting, I learned a lot of new memory improvement tactics! That being said the coursework was easy however the MTs and Final were hard. There is ALOT to memorize including some test questions pulled directly from the book. Yonelinas is very passionate about his work and it helps he sounds like a radio announcer!

The professor is wonderful, kind, and very enthusiastic about the subject of human memory. The tests are really difficult, M/C and short answer. No curve, no extra credit. Two tests throughout the quarter (40% of the grade each) and no final. Gives open-book quizzes (20% of grade), basically free points, so make sure you do them.

Subject is very interesting. Will ask questions about studies from the book. Only 2 exams. Both exams were mc & short answer; it was not easy and class is not curved.

Comment:
Exams are half multiple choice and half short answer and fill in the blank. "Short" answer is basically explaining the details of research studies related to whatever questions he asks... This wouldn't be so terrible if there were less to memorize, but there are only 2 exams for the entire quarter. Nice guy, not an easy class. Beware!!

Andy is a really great professor and his class is definitely worth taking! His exams require you think, but in general, aren't too bad. Quizzes are take-home aka free points. The general trends to his lectures make them easy to follow and prepare for exams. The TA, Mariam, was always available and offered clarity to more complex topics.

Andy is one of the best lecturers I've ever had. Note that midterm is worth 40%, final is worth 40%, and quizes are 20%. I feel that the TA I had graded REALLY harshly, as they grade the quizes, midterm, and final. Don't go into this class thinking that it's an easy A, and if you're not a good test taker, DO NOT take this class if you can avoid it.

his lectures consisted of definitions and studies. the ta gave simple quizzes that we had in advance to keep us studying, and we were expected to know lecture material and readings. he was pretty clear on what the tests would be like though.

The class structure is basically some subject about memory, then whatever studies or researches have done relating to that subject. Because of this, I found the test quite difficult as he asked questions such as "name a study which dissociates x memory and y memory," with lots of stuff to memorize, it's very easy to confuse them.

This is a challenging but great class. Prof Yonelinas is helpful and a fantastic teacher. The material is interesting but the tests can be difficult. Do not take this class if you hoping for an easy A. Tests are MC and short answers and mostly research based vs. definitions. TA (Josh) was helpful and approachable. Dont miss class n ask questions!Doesnt curve.

Oh, you know I'd like to rate him poorly out of spite, because I honestly found his tests to be challenging, but I can't! I greatly enjoyed this class. He's a fantastic lecturer and I really appreciate the design of the class; material is highly research-based, which I think is how most psychology classes should be. I highly recommend Yonelinas!

He's very nice, won't ever make you feel bad if you bomb his test which aren't very tricky so much as requires ALOT of memorization. loves to give questions like: give me 3 studies that dissociates this from that in which you would have to pick out from a gazillion studies, very easy to mix them up; he's also very strict about grading fun class tho

He is very nice and approahable, as was the TA, Craig. I somehow pulled of a B+ but never really understood the material. Tests are difficult. Only take this class if you are REALLY interested in memory and can grasp abstract concepts and research findings.
