I took Prof. Oberbauer Summer 2014 and it was nuts. You must read the material or else, she'll call you out and humiliates you for not answering correctly. She's an easy A however, her assignments were not clear. Be prepare for student debates, its ridiculous and she times you like an actual political debate. Final is a take home and easy.

Her class is very easy to pass all you got to do is show up everyday. That alone are extra credits. She gave out two tests, two projects, and a take home final. The tests are straight from the study guide and she gives you that answer the day before the test. You will rarely use the textbok. Just show up and answer questions and youll pass.

She is an awful prof. Yes, if you put for the effort you will pass (I got an A) but you will learn nothing. She's unhelpful, rude and condescending. Also, she gets her facts wrong. She said Tom Cruise was a Christian Scientist and when everyone one corrected her, she was belligerent. She should not be a teacher and has many complaints against her.

Power points are very hard to see (white text overlapping onto white background) but she teaches you how to do power points that are clear for your final project (lmao). She seems a little intense but just talk to her about how much you love Obama and how we didn't belong in Iraq and you'll get an a at the end for working hard on your group presentation.

I do not understand all the negative comments, yea she is a bad teacher but you can get by the class easily. She gives ALOT of extra credit 8 weeks into class i have already receives 22 points extra credit on a 100 point based class. Her test are the exact same as the study guides and she gives you the answers in class. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for An A

The material is pretty easy, and decent studying will get you a good grade. The teacher is pretty rude though. She loves to call on people and correct them when they give their answers too. NOT and enjoyable class experience, dreaded going in there every day. Easy and manageable material, rude teacher. Hope I helped.

Hated Political Science until I took this class. Prof. knew her material, however, that was not my issue with her. She is rude, condescending and treats adults as if they were children. I am a 40 year old, successful person and felt very belittled by her numerous times.

Not the most helpful or polite teacher, but she is not a bad teacher at all. She does go off on tangents, but most of them are relevant to her lectures. If you work off the study guide, you should be successful in her class. If you have options, find another teacher, but if you have no choice, she really is not that bad.

I really enjoyed this teacher. She might be a little bias and very opinionated but she does lay down the facts... there is no reason what so ever anyone should fail this class u get a study guide and the final is take home. One of the worst teachers i have had. Everyones comments about her are correct. She all over the place, she forgets names of things she is lecturing on! Her test are 8-10 ?'s all short essay with 3 to 4 parts and the whole test worth 25 points (atleast for summer school) I would never take her again and would warn to stay away if possible

Some of the words she absolutely butchers, "Agrigarian" Extreme Liberal Bias. Assumes you have not read the book when you call her out for being confusing. Kept calling the International Monetary Fund, International Money Fund, Doctors Without Borders, Doctors Beyond Borders. Kinda make it difficult to resist the urge to constantly face-palm!

I've never hated a class or teacher so much in my life! She is so rude, interrupts, says the book is wrong, talks to you like you're stupid, she is unbelievable! She tried to tell me I haven't been to class in weeks when I haven't missed one. I can't believe she hasn't been fired for how she treats students. She's the devil!

If Mesa is ever critized for discriminating against the mentally challenged, they need only point to her. She can't figure out which pair of glasses she has on or remember more than two words at a time, let alone actually say something useful! And if that wasn't bad enough, she has a nasty attitude! So many good teachers lost jobs - why not her?!!!

She thinks she's giving you a UCSD level class...but she's not. Her thinking is disorganized which is unfortunate because her lecture outlines are the study guide. The first test of the semester left 5 of us with D's and the rest with F's. Her "style" is to knock you down...in points and in lecture.

Whatever degree Oberbauer has should be revoked. She can't hold a complete thought for more than 10 seconds before having a complete mental meltdown. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS if you want to keep your sanity. She's unbelievable.

The previous comments are spot-on. She is seriously scatter-brained, but her understanding of the US Constitution seems firm. Her ability to articulate thoughts is poor, and as someone else said, she makes up her own words and butchers the English language. If you're a dedicated student, you'll manage. If you like short-cuts: GOOD LUCK!!!!

Didn't learn as much about poly sci as I did about taking a university level test. Good thing I had her early on as meeting her standards carried through to other classes. Understands the constution, but a little shaky older political events that occured while she was living out of country. Read, answer questions, discuss and you will be fine.
