I enjoyed his class! It was a cool lecture and he was really funny. The essays are graded by the TA, and luckily I got a super nice and chill one. I took him for my freshman year, no regrets :)

Professor Angelis was awesome. Very funny. With the essays, it was the TA's that would grade and they were super harsh and tough. Overall, it was a good class, sad to see him retire and go :(

The professor himself is great. The TA's, as a lot of comments have already mentioned are tough graders. They will subtract a lot of points from your papers and midterm, definitely will go around every student to make them participate for discussion class. Also the lecture slides will never post online, but he does give a review sheet for exams.

An amazing history professor. He makes the lectures really enjoyable, and his jokes are actually funny. He is really knowledgeable about what he teaches and his class is fairly easy. It is considered writing intensive (W) but he only assigns two 3-page papers. I strongly recommend taking this class with him.

he's a great professor! it is a lecture, so if you have a question, you should ask. his lectures are very helpful for his exams. if you show up, listen, and take notes, that's all you'll need to pass his exam. even though attendance is not taken (probably only once the whole semester), i would suggest to go to every one of them.

One of the few best professors I had so far. He makes the lecture very entertaining to listen. He has so much to say that a 50 mins class is not enough. He would crack jokes here and there at times.

Professor Angelis will forever be my favorite Professor at Hunter College. If I could go back it would be just to take one of his classes. He is extremely knowledgeable and gives interesting lectures. He always starts class with a funny story and gradually switch gears into the discussion. He gives great feedback on papers and is willing to help.

He really is my favorite professor at Hunter College. If you have the opportunity to take his class, TAKE IT. Like any other class, you have to do the work to get the credit but he is a really nice guy. I just didn't like that on the last day of class he only made you come in to hand in your paper. If i knew that I would have just emailed it.

Best History professor I ever came across!!! He has made me fall in love with American history even though my interests were in WWI,WWII, and the Cold War XD. His enthusiasm and passion is so infectious. Yes, he assigns a lot of readings, but don't let that intimidate you - he is worth taking!!! For history nerds, he is the best!!!

Great Professor. Knew the best way to present materials from lecture. No textbook for lecture made it a bit hard to study for exams but the textbook for discussion is mandatory. He does not take attendance but you have to be there to take the notes in order to pass his essay exams. Does not post slides to blackboard. I would recommend his class

Great and knowledgeable professor, but he demands respect (no food or phones). Only had midterm and final (easy if you study). He is willing to answer any and all questions, but you still have to pay attention and take notes during lecture. GO TO LECTURE!! I had a great TA, but you have to participate in discussion.

I absolutely enjoyed this class because of Professor Angelis. This class is an easy A. His lectures are fun and interesting, and he's a pretty easygoing professor. Reading the materials on Blackboard helps a lot for the discussion groups. I would definitely take this class again!

I LOVE this teacher. His sense of humor during his lectures make them 10x more interesting. 2 essays, a midterm and final. The TAs are the ones who grade your tests and essays, which are easy as long as you study the study sheets and pay attention. Doesn't post his powerpoints on Blackboard, so make sure you take great notes and don't skip class!

He is a great professor, he really keeps you engaged which doesn't even make you feel like you are sitting in a very big class. There is a discussion class with TA's and that is where you go over HW. 2 Essays Midterm &final. Exams are straight forwards the essays are really hard people barely get As on them. MUST take notes, so go to class.

He is a great professor! His lectures don't feel long at all, time goes by very quickly. If your interested in history take this class, he has a lot of slides and you can't take pics of them so be ready to write. His exams are super easy if you take good notes, and the TA's are GREAT! Attendance isn't mandatory, but have a good note taking friend!

He's SO great. If you're not interested in history like me then take this man because he'll change your mind. He's so funny, so clear and so helpful. Reviews sheets match tests perfectly. Essays are short and fairly easy. Class time FLYS because you enjoy it so much. I love him! I would take him again and again. And I don't even know my grade yet!

Angelis is a Godsend in Hunter.I don't know who would say his midterm/final was hard, considering the tests are the review sheets he puts on blackboard,Considering that,of course his TA's are going to be harsh graders for essays,BUT EVEN SO,they helped us write the essays basically. Loved the class,Angelis is hilarious and belongs onTVfor his humor.

Professor Angelis is one of the better professors at Hunter College's history department. His will always make time for you during his office hours and will answer your questions in a generally friendly and professional manner. He is very enthused with his subject area, but does not reign in aggressive students
