Professor Tran is awesome! The course is really perfected in how the material is conveyed, what you are tested on, and how to succeed. That being said the labs and homework's are time intensive but if you work through it and force yourself to complete the labs you will succeed.

Comment:

Professor Tran is the best professor I have taken at Umass Lowell. He is an example to his colleagues and students. UML needs more professors like Dr. Tran. He is deeply concerned with his students' grasp of the material. He will be very helpful as long as he sees that you are hardworking. Also you must read beyond the textbook to pass.100% FAIR.

Funniest professor I ever had. Such a comical chracter. His laugh is hilarious and his stories are so stupid but make you laugh. If you do your labs and get old exams you'd do fine.

This is a time consuming class. There are five labs all take at least five hours. He teaches directly from the text, which he wrote. Read it, it will help. Try to get old exams to study from, they are usually the same, especially the final. Work in study groups, it will make the work go by faster.He is ruthless for deadline, don't expect extratime.

Logic Design class: Awful, awful teacher. Flies through the powerpoint slides, that are just pictures of the textbook that HE wrote. Not very approachable either. Goodluck teaching yourself!

One of the best professors I have had. Even though he seems anal about things being 100% perfect, he is actually pretty easygoing with everything. He explains the material completely, the assignments fully use the material, and doing the labs will ensure you do well on his exams. Bonus: His book is cheap, but covers everything you need to know.

Dr. Tran is a great teacher. his accent is very hard to understand. the labs are extremely difficult if you don't know what you're doing. and trust me, in the beginning you wont. but over time you're forced to understand the material. Dr. Tran is very helpful with the labs. i have emailed him back and forth like 20 times for each lab.

GREAT GUY!! Tran is an awesome teacher and goes over every bit of material. Labs take a lot of time to do, but gives you them weeks in advance. Tests are easy if you understand and do the labs yourself. Very helpful out of class, will answer questions and teach it different ways if asked. Best class ive taken at UML

Professor Tran is a pedagogue deeply concerned with his students' knowledge of the material. My single biggest suggestion to Professor Tran in regards to this course would be to have the labs due before tests. I think this will greatly benefit students' comprehension of the material, as well as test performance. Fair grader as long as you work.

The material is not very hard. His exams are only difficult because of the time limit. The lectures are pretty good. The labs are a pain. They are extremely long and he grades very specifically. It is a huge amount of work for a class which does not award credits for a lab section.

Dr. Tran is completely full of himself, he insults student and is generally rude. I took this class at another school and Tran's class was much worse, his understand of industry is way out of date. I learned much more about this stuff during my internship. The tests are rough and I swear the review session is just to throw you off.

Logic Design. There is nothing on tests or in projects that is not covered in class or in the book. If you are willing to spend the considerable time it takes to do ALL of the homework problems and projects and memorize some of the material, you will do well on the tests and pass. Prof is a riot - class is theater. But he doesn't suffer fools.
