Comment:
Anil is the most intelligent, caring, and thorough professor I've had yet to date. Logic is not the easiest subject to teach and requires extensive understanding in order to relay the topic in an understandable way to intro students. Take no one other than Anil for logic. You won't regret it.

I am not a philosophy major and this was one of the hardest classes I've ever taken. You HAVE to go to class AND the recitations AND do the homework if you are planning to get even a B in this class, at least that how it was for me. Also, pro tip, GO TO THE STUDY SESSIONS when he offers them (they really helped me out)!

Professor Gupta was amazing. He has great ways of explaining complex logical concepts, and his lectures really helped me do well in the class. He's really nice and cares about the success of his students. If you need help, he'll make time for you and often hosts extra help sessions. Definitely would take again.

He's so enthusiastic it's the only reason I paid attention in logic class. He LOVES logic. He's very thorough and he explains it in a way the book just cannot. Go to class, it makes your life much easier. Also, if you go to class you won't need the textbook.

Makes sure he teaches the material rather than having you learn from reading the book. Explains everything well but sometimes lectures are repetitive and boring. Some concepts were tricky but we went over everything so much and did so many examples things were fine. Midterm and final were really easy

by far one of the best professors I have ever had at Pitt. How much he cares about his students really shows through and he truly wants people to do well. It is logic so it can be a little confusing at times but if you ask for help he will go above and beyond for you. I would recommend anyone thinking of taking a class with him to do it!

I read the reviews about Professor Gupta which is what made me take him for Logic. He's super enthusiastic and wants his students to do well. If you go to class, do the homework, and practice the problems a little the class isn't too bad.

I came into this class after hearing great things about Professor Gupta, but the material is VERY tricky to learn, and although he is there for you EVERY step of the way, he can get pretty confusing. He expects you to understand everything soon after he teaches it, and he thinks everyone loves Logic as much as him. Great guy, though. Enthusiastic.

the best! super enthusiastic about logic and teaching it. he tries to learn people's names, and then calls randomly on people to answer questions, so pay attention! he also will stop the class if he sees somebody texting/reading another book/on their computer. the TAs were not the best, but otherwise, a great class! easy a and learn lots!

A great professor who clearly loves both logic and teaching. His lectures are extremely clear and well-presented, the class is easy, and he's so damned enthusiastic. The TAs can be a bit of trouble, but that barely matters. TAKE HIM FOR LOGIC.

Lectures were a huge help. The TAs were terrible mine couldn't convey any message. Class is disorganized sometimes with poor communication between Gupta and the TAs. Other than that the class isn't too bad.

If you go to class and understand the homework, you will get an A. Prof. Gupta is soooooo excited about logic, and he constantly makes the class crack up when he is running around the front of the lecture, excited about solving a problem. Take him for logic, and no one else. 2 quizes and two homeworks dropped, a midterm and a final

He is very enthusiastic about logic, and he brings that energy to class. He's funny and can make a good joke here and there. He's very willing to help you. Makes great handouts to illustrate concepts. Assigns weekly required homework. Exams aren't too bad at all if you understand the material. This class will require studying.

One of the best here. Just loves to teach the material. TA's are good, too. Do the homework and quizzes and you should be fine. The exams aren't easy and can be tricky, so do all the non-required problems, too. You won't regret taking him!
