I've taken several courses with Dr. Walz and I love her. She is a brilliant woman, really knows her stuff and I've learned a TON in her classes. There are 3 deadlines a week in her courses, which can be difficult to stay on top of, but the assignments aren't hard, and are usually very interesting! Can break down hard topics well and make you think!

Terrible. Never her met her, took her online GEO 101 course expecting to work hard but not expected to be a master of geographic sciences. Hard to understand labs, terrible instructions, and time consuming assignments made what could have been an interesting course very difficult. Don't do it.

I had the class earlier and her lectures put me to sleep. I was interested in the material but could never stay focused. The quizzes are super important, don't forget them. They are around 1/3 of the test, but the rest of the material was not clear. I just memorised the quizzes and usually got around a 70 .

I had Mrs. Walz for FYS and she gives you difficult weekly homework/reads, but if you understand and don't care to spend multiple hours on a reading then I would recommend her. She's very smart, but she is talks nonstop. Has you do a book report and attendance is strict.

This professor gave a lot of assignments. However, there were so many assignments there was a lot of room for error and still manage a good grade. She was very helpful and gave plenty of chances on the weekly quizzes. The class was difficult but was managable.

Took this class online, had some issues come up right off the bat and Dr. Walz was extremely helpful. However, the labs are extremely confusing and both the labs and the quizzes use information that was not discussed in class or in the book. Compounding matters, the wording on the labs is extremely confusing.

One of the smartest instructors I have had. She is very helpful, very nice, cares about her students, and cares about her subject. Her quizzes are a little confusing, but if you work hard - which you are required to do in college - you will do well.

It isn't as hard as it seems. There are many chances to make-up for low test grades. If you attend class, get 100's on the quizzes and do fair on the tests, there is no reason to not get a B or A in this class.

I really enjoyed her class. The lab is hard though. As for the lecture, the only homework you ever have is a few quizes online. The tests are hard, but if you attend everyday you will do well no matter what. She really knows her stuff.

She is the worst professor I have had ever had. You better be a geography major because she expects you to be. There is lots of busy work. For your own sake don't take this professor. She edits what you can say to help one another. If she doesn't like what you say or if you are helping someone to much she deletes it.

I found this professor to be extremely unhelpful and she doesn't really seem to care if her students are doing well or not. I went to her for help but was treated rudely. She requires you to take and pay for the lab with Geo101 even if you don't need it. Also, She doesn't proofread quiz questions or material to make sure it is up to date.

She is a very nice lady. She has a lot of knowledge in her field. She always helps with any questions you might have. The only homework you have is to submit your quizez online. You also watch movies on the topics of her lectures every couple of weeks. She is a great teacher, and I will take her in my future courses.

Superior teacher. Genuinely interested in the success of her students. You get to do some fun projects in the field. Labs and tests can be a bit tricky, but it's not hard to get an A.
