Solid Professor. She knows a lot about the subject and is pretty cool. Her assignments were not that bad and were manageable.

Hilarious class. Loved the theme of environmental justice. Easy assignments, she makes it very clear what she expects. There is a lot of reading but this is an English class.

Great Professor, pretty funny. She works with you. She does a bunch of reading but its an Eng course so that is expected. She does pick good, interesting books. She gives tons of extra credit if you get a D its because you did nothing that was asked.

This professor is so interested and enthusiastic. She won't give a hard time on writing papers, she needs meaningful essay but not long. I would take her other class if it is possible. Her quizzes and exams are not hard, but even though she doesnot need long papers, she grades essays hard. The usual assignments are to read textbooks and take notes.

Great professor. She signs a few papers but they're only 3 pages long tops. Very funny and interesting. Just do the assignments and you'll be fine.

One of the most intelligent professors I have had. She is so funny and she doesn't try to make the class difficult, she just wants you to know the material. It is such an interesting class. She is also nice, I was going to be away during the midterm and I was so afraid that I would fail but she said it was no problem and we'd figure it out.

The gender studies department at John Jay is flawed so Prof. Huse's literary approach to a gender studies class really turned me off. Many times her statements were problematic (implying that bisexuality doesn't exist & nonbinary people have no purpose). She's an easy grader but she shouldn't be teaching gender studies.

Very blunt very opened about her life and very funny. Interesting class and a lot of open book quizzes. She tells you when they'll be and what the question is before hand. Final and midterm gives you a review sheet for both of the exams. Do the readings and go to class and you'll be fine. pretty hard grader. gives partial credit always

She is an amazing professor. Very blunt and funny. Interesting lectures and the readings are fun. 2 text books, 1 in class paper , quizzes (she always tells you when and most of them are open book), 1 group presentation, final and midterm (she gives a review sheet for both exams). Come to class and do the readings and u will pass. Very fair grader.

She is an incredible professor, who is extremely smart and knows what she is talking about. She has you read 3 books, and as long as you actually do the reading you will be perfectly fine. Her class is entertaining and so is her personality. I loved having her as a professor and would definitely take her again !

I Love This Professor She Has Inspired Me To Take A Gender Studies Minor. She's Witty, Real, Daring And Honest. The Readings Are Interesting. The Midterm And Final Were Reviewed And Prepped To The Fullest. Not Easy But Not Hard.

She is sweet at times and she explains her books well. However, As for her exams, some would say they are ridiculous. You can't expect one to remember 8 books and what stories are exactly in each novel. Its impossible! Even if you read they well, the only way to know what each of the 8 books of each book their are stories in one book. Hard Grader.

She is a very good professor. Her tests are hard but if you understand the readings and add alot of details you will do fine. She is very helpful and understanding. Go to the writing center it will also help improve your grade. It may seem like a lot of work but its really not out of all the books you read maybe half of the book not even.

The exams are a bit tricky. However, you should be fine as long as you read, attend class, & pay attention. She teaches at a normal pace but sometimes goes a bit too quick through material.

Quizzed every class for the 8+books you read, midterm (very hard) , 2 essays (hard), and Final (extremely hard) .Tough in every sense, and treats you like a little child. If you like a challenge and being treated like a little child, take her and don't forget to pray harder than usual since while in her class, you'll need it. good luck.

WOW. seems like my post has been deleted...hmmmm..who could have done that??! (prob the prof.) Ill just have to write one again.. DO NOT TAKE HER! She expects you to read 8 books and know them thoroughly, I mean thoroughly so that you are able to take her quizzes which she grades very harshly. She know what she wants and expects you to deal with it

Wonderful professor but a harsh grader who gives a lot of work. Buy 8 books which we read like 3 chapters in each book, midterm and final(hard), papers, lots of quizzes. I suggest you go 2 the writing center 2 gain more points because it does help. I went 4 times and my overall grade was a b- If I didn't go then I would of gotten a C or lower.

She is one of the best professors I have ever encountered in the English Department at JJAY. Super helpful, if you do you're reading you're set to pass the class. A lot of mini homework's but very simple and not time consuming. I recommend her all the way!

Good professor! Huse knows her stuff. She can tell you anything about Medieval Literature and its historical background(s). She is positive and the class is interaction-discussion based. There is an in class writing assignment, a few pop quizzes along with the midterm and final. Once the readings are done they shouldn't be hard. Enjoy!
