I missed about 10 days of class because I was too lazy to go and because her classes are just sad to be in. Still got a passing grade though. I don't understand why she teaches or what she teaches, but you can still take her if you equally don't care about knowledge as much as she does.

Comment:

She gives a fair amount of homework. It is easy to participate in class; just do your assigned work. You can't miss class because that goes on your participation which is key for passing her class. She doesn't give good feedback so it can be confusing. You read a lot of excerpts and short stories as well as out of books. She does NOT allow phones.

Comment:

Argyriou is a great teacher! She responds to her emails quickly. She expects a lot of effort and there is a good amount of hw you're going to have to do. She has two midterms and a final but they are relatively easy if you follow her grading criteria. Overall she isn't an easy teacher but I definitely feel prepared for EWRT 1A.

I am currently taking a course with her and i feel nothing but uncomfortable in this class. She makes me feel like i am in highschool again. I think she is racist towards those with colored skin. In this class we basically teach eachother since theres so much group work. i recommend you do not waste ur money and time with her. SHE IS WICKED

This class is easy, but she makes it hard for no reason. Even if you do all the assignments and homework, she will still give you a bad grade because you didn't answer the question the way she wants it. It has to be her way or your wrong.

On the first day make sure you find a group of people to sit next to that you will be able to work with for the rest of the quarter. There is tons of writing and class work. Every reading you do in the class you will need for the final so make sure you understand what you are reading. She has strange humor, but she means well.

Argyriou is a great teacher and her class is an easy A! We did group work most the time and sometimes we would get homework but it wouldn't be super hard. We had 2 midterms and 1 final which wasn't that hard. I definitely recommend this class! I loved it.

She's not good at her job. Assigns constant work, no feedback or any helpful remarks. You do all this work, and not know the results. What is that? How are you supposed to improve? She'll just make you discuss in groups, while she scowls--is that teaching? Or judging? I think she's not into it, and thus is irresponsible at her job. I want a refund.

please don't take a class with her!! She treats you like you're in high school and she is awkward which makes me very uncomfortable. There is group work every single day to answer questions but she always ends up adding more questions by the end of class. ITS ENDLESS. She also talks about the same topic or short essay for literally 2-3 weeks.

This teacher told me to pack up and leave on the second day because I was reading her text to check it out instead of participating with the group AFTER we finished. She called me out for using my phone, fine w/e tolerable, but seriously? I'm reading the first page of her textbook 30 mins to the end of class and she sends me out. Honestly wtf

At first this class was great because we hardly did anything. Everyday is the same routine, get in groups and answer the questions on the board. One homework assignment a week. The only problem is that she grades the homework harder than expected and does not consider other answers to be correct. Not sure if I will pass? Easy besides grading.

Group work is terrible, and she will continue to add questions. No make up work or excuses for late work. Does not have her students passing as a priority, and will be hesitant to give ANY feedback on your work. "figure it out for yourself" Avoid this class if you can - take it online! Took this class during summer. The book is semi-interesting tho

My Dad had a stroke the morning of the midterm and I stayed with him in ICU. Despite my explanation and willingness to provide proof she did not accomodate at all. Don't count on late work being excused. No sympathy. I worked really hard for this class and it sucks to possibly not pass. This is not her only issue. The other reviews say it best.

Get ready for tons of groupwork... feels like high school all over again. Sign up with buddy if you are going to have to take this class. Classwork is repetitive and mind-numbing. She will constantly assign new questions onto the discussed classwork so it really seems endless and on the fly. Don't expect to have your opinion heard at all.

She grades extremely hard and is not understanding at all. She does not care what your reason is, she wont allow you to turn in late hw. Waits until the last day to tell students they didnt pass. Classes are beyond boring and unnecessary. Avoid it

INCREDIBLY disorganized. Treats her students as if they're in elementary school. Must leave phone on her desk before going to the restroom. Group work almost every day. Homework can be time-consuming; 2-3x a week. Easy pass if you put in the effort in the homework & attend class (points will be deducted for every absence).
