I have taken multiple classes with Dr. Eisenberg and have done well. The rumors are out there, but it is VERY possible to do well in her classes. She provides clear guidelines and gives you enough time to ask questions about assignments. The reason people do poorly is they don't pay attention to her instructions, skip class, don't read, or a combo.

Fantastic professor! Although assignments are a bit challenging, she gives great feedback on what to change for the next assignment. She makes class interesting and uses real-life examples to explain concepts. She's understanding that we are students and makes adjustments to deadlines if necessary. She's helpful and encouraging!

Do not fear this professor. The rumors are out there, but the verdict is in. You CAN do well in her class, but you MUST follow her outlines. She tells you exactly what to do and you have ample time to ask questions. She has a really great sense of humor that keeps class on the relaxed side.

Eisenbergs class is structured around your schedule. She doesnt give exams and only gives a few writing assignments. I got an A in her class because i would go to office hours and have her check my work. My advice is to talk to her in office hours at least once. Papers involve great attention to detail

Save yourself and do NOT take a class with her. She is a great person, but has ridiculously specific requirements for assignments. She only likes work that is done exactly the way she wants it. I really wish I hadn't taken this class...

Dr. Eisenberg is an awesome professor. She expects a lot, but she makes that clear on the first day. If you are confused about anything, she and the TAs are very helpful, so utilize their office hours! You have to put in the work but people within the department LOVE her because you learn a lot from her and she cares about her students.

Comment:
Dr. Eisenberg systematically restricts student creativity and narrows acceptable discourse in class. Her assignment and grading critera demand regimented student conformity to a mindnumbing degree. Assignment topic prompts are framed to orient students toward preconceived povs. Lectures are copy-off-the-board tours of passivity. Dont mess up cites!

A medium load of work that she grades seriously, but she is very clear about what she wants and often offers more homeworks and papers than she will count for your final grade (drops lowest grades)

So much respect for this teacher. She is very lenient with deadlines for assignments if you're struggling with other classes, as long as you talk to her ahead of time. She is a very tough grader but is very helpful during office hours. If you put the work in, you will get a good grade.

She breaks down every single thing (essay wise) she wants you to write. helps you format your essay in class and tells alot personal stories that may go along with the topic in class. i was nervous around her but she always is fair. If you are homophobic dont take her class because she is a lesbian. I really respected her and I learned so much.

Professor Eisenberg is awesome. A lot of reviews here are from past semesters- this semester she drastically revised her grading criteria and handed out sheets describing every single assignment and exactly what she expected on them. Made 75 minute classes fly by and just one take home test in the beginning about proper citations. Take her class!

Eisenberg will expect you to actually READ and THINK about your assignments: you can't just "BS" your way through this course. That being said, she prepares you for the professional world. If you value learning and getting the most out of your education, take her class. Here's one tip: GO TO CLASS AND FOLLOW DIRECTIONS. She's very clear.

She expects a lot from the students, which is great, but she should expect more from herself. She lost things, conducted herself inappropriately (insulted students' appearances who later dropped the class, etc.), cared more about being funny than creating a serious work environment. I love soc theory, so it was a disappointment

I first thought her class was ridiculously hard for a 100 level soc class but she makes it easy for you to do well in the class if you actually follow directions on assignments. She really challenged me to learn and I'm actually taking another class with her this semester because I enjoyed intro so much.

I wouldn't recommend taking her class just to fill credits, I wouldn't recommend her at all. Shes way too picky and strict when grading papers even at 100 level. She will literally cut your marks for small grammar mistakes. Her instructions aren't clear at all. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.

Eisenberg is clear and to the point; lectures are easy to understand. The woman's a boss, both in how she teaches and conducts herself. Her take-home tests, on the other hand, were very difficult for me. Starting them last minute is note recommended! They are so specific and one little mishap can get you major points off. HATE rules?: DON'T TAKE!

Dr. Eisenberg is a nice woman, she cares about her students, she gives interesting lectures, and makes class go by fast. However, I didn't like the take-home tests because I thought the essay questions were really irrelevant, I had a hard time answering them using what we learned in class. She is really clear about what she expects from you though.
