Probably one of the most difficult classes I've had to take, but by far the coolest. You get real hands on experience with identifying bones and she and the TAs know how to lead you to the right answers. Would definitely take again.

HAVE THE BOOK! Quizzes, Discussion and Exams are based off of the readings. Need to be proactive about at least skimming before class. Class was discussion based and exam questions were straight off of discussion conversations. Best way to do well on the Exams is to write down her comments during discussion. The class itself is super interesting!

She's really tough and expects a lot out of her students. But that said, she also will help you all day long to understand the material. My one complaint is that her tests are really about applied knowledge so it can be difficult to transfer what you've learned to what you need to answer. I really recommend her though.

Dr. Grauer is AMAZING. Going into the class I thought that it was going to be dense material, but upon the first day she told us all that there are no tests and no quizzes. We don't even have to take notes. Very inspirational and passionate about the subject. You read a few articles and some chapters from STIFF and write 6 short, easy refections.

Grauer's grading criteria is so different from her own and you won't know where you're at in the class at any point in the semester unless you go see her. Osteology is THE most difficult class I've taken at Loyola, this is coming from a biol major having taken orgo. She will not give you partial credit and there is no extra credit for doing poorly

Class requires a lot of work; extensive reading, intensive note taking, class discussion, frequent quizzes and one presentation. Enjoyed learning from this professor who places emphasis not on "knowing" but on understanding instead.

VDr. Grauer is very passionate about anthropology, but she tries to dumb down even the basic theories like evolution and uses these analogies that makes no sense to people on the receiving end. The one hundred level class was made too difficult, it was confusing what she wanted from you from on the TEST, and I certainly wouldn't take her again

If you dislike Dr. Grauer you must either A.) be a slacker, B.) have absolutely no interest in interesting subjects. Human Osteology was the best class of my college career. It was VERY tough. Expect to put in LONG hours! You'll get so much more out of this class than just bones - great prep for grad/med school. She has a great sense of humor too.

Really, really reading intensive, but they're usually interesting. Random quizzes ensure the readings have been done;you won't be able to BS your way through. Lots of classes focused heavily on discussion/presentation of material by other students. Grauer is awesome and always willing to help. It's a hard class but I enjoyed it. Recommended.

Dr Grauer is one of the best professors at Loyola. While her class is extremely challenging, you learn so much and she is very willing to help. I still remember the first exam with all of the bone fragments and not healthy bone that we had been using and thinking wtf.. but it just made me work harder and I cherish the experience

Human Osteology is HARD, & I've taken orgo. There's only 25 spots open only in the fall semester, so email her in January. It's a LOT of extra work, and the ONLY way to study is to sign up for times in the lab b/c you're literally groping bones & such to obtain mental pictures & anatomical orientations. Grauer is very smart and tough. Not a blow off class.

She is very knowledgeable but her class is very hard. You literally have to attend every class and take extremely detailed notes or else you will not get an A on the test. Her tests are very tough and her final is cumulative and very difficult. Completely killed my grade. The class is a good experience but if you want to keep up your GPA, skip.

She's a really nice person, I showed up late for the final and was still able to take it no problem, but her tests are impossible! The final IS cumulative she will tell you that its not, but it totally is. Much harder than a 101 class needs to be.

I love this woman. Seriously one of the funniest teachers I have had in college so far. Book this semester wasn't required, you just need to go to class. Class definitely isn't easy but if you study you will do great. And there are six online quizzes, a three tests and a final.

Love her. You have to go to class. You have to take good notes. But you will get an A. I would take her. You'll understand the topic and become intrigued by it. Professor Grauer made me want to add Anth as a minor.

Pretty tough class with difficult tests and exams, but they're passable. Don't think that you can sluff through without reading the material and end up with a grade any higher than a C. Anne is a great professor and a true master of her subject. Even if you're not into anthro, she keeps her class interesting and is very approachable.

She is a good prof, but would of taken any other Anth 101 prof if I could. Her tests during the semester were not bad, but her final was impossible. She does curve the grades at the end of the semester. Ended up with an A-

Professor Grauer may be a good teacher, but this class sucked. The exams and quizzes were extremely hard and she basically found any way she could to make you suffer in the class. DONT TAKE IF YOUR NOT AN ANTHRO MAJOR. Her lectures are boring and she always tries to trick you on the exams so you ultimately don't learn anything. Horrible class.
