Had Prof. Alfieri for Civ Pro I. Funny guy! Awesome teacher - you'll know more than every other Civ Pro class. Seems like a ton of work at first, but he only wants you to know the bullet points. On the other hand, his stand-and-deliver cold calling is silly, and he needs to give more guidance for the diagrams, etc. Overall, I'd take him again.

Had Civ Pro w/ Alfieri. Very difficult day to day but you will come out of the class knowing more than anyone who had another Civ Pro with another professor. Put in the work and you'll be rewarded (which is unlike most classes in law school). He knows his stuff and really is a great teacher.

Professor Alfieri is one in a million! If you come to class prepared and ready forrigorous questioning then you've already made it through half the battle! His class requires diligence and preparation--don't bother if you aren't ready to work. He truly wants students to understand the material and become better lawyers for it. Incredible teacher!!!

If you have any pride whatsoever in your ability think on your feet and keep pace with a confident, demanding, entertaining, hugely respected law school professor who: 1. puts a ton of energy into preparation for class and 2. basically gives you the mc question bank you'll see on the exam and 3. Makes you a more confident, more impressive lawyer you take him. Each individual whining about him are babies who are never going to be missed when they're gone or invited to intimate gatherings.

There is no finer law professor Alfieri. Bring your A-game to days when you're on rotation (~ once every two weeks) and enjoy the show when you're not. READ BUFFALO CREEK and CIVIL ACTION carefully. The story lines are the backdrop for the cases and fed rules. The E & E's are really the ticket if you can read them before class.

Great Professor. As a 1L he may scare the living day lights out of you at first. The class itself is very demanding and you are on-call and have a trial rotation where you stand for 1/2 the class and take some questions. If you want to really learn Civ Pro and want to get over a fear of public speaking, hes the prof. Grading is very fair.

Get someone's old outline and just memorize the holdings of each case and the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. Do not bother reading extensiively the supplement cases, just skim for the 2-3 sentence holding/rule of law. Focus on the practice exam!!!

For you 1L's, you will be scared out of your minds for the first 6 weeks, as this will be a completely new experience for you. But after that, you start to realize how much more you know about Civ Pro than any other 1Ls on campus. After you are on rotation for the first time, go to his office hours. He is the nicest guy in the world

Yeah, he's a dick in class. And, no, the grades are not as inflated as you've heard. But you'll learn your Civ Pro. Problem: straight memorization. You might be surprised/ dissappointed at who does well in this class. You'll love him like you love an abusive spouse; if you're inclined toward that, well, you'll do fine. Go to office hours.
