Excellent use of multimedia - outstanding expertise in the field (who speaks archaic Chinese?) - very helpful and well organized. Solid lecturer - I learned a lot more than I thought I would. A lot of reading and writing involved. I felt he was fair, non-opinionated, and he really taught the class. NOT a blow-off course.

i really liked his lectures. there were lots of pictures and he knew a lot about everything and told interesting stories about acient chinese explorers and stuff. i never read/bought anything though that was required and still got a good grade.

the assigned reading was absolutely unbearable--luckily hardly any of it was tested. tests were all based on lectures which were done in pwrpoint and had a ton of pictures and maps. very thorough lecturer. i got a B w/o reading anything.
