Comment:
This class was pretty easy. He made it interesting and was always willing to answer any questions. The exams weren't too bad, just study the terms and the study guide really well. Their was a very large project towards the end of the semester but also long as it's started early, it won't be bad.

Ari really like plant biology but throws a ton of information at students and expects them to absorb it. There's several tests and the final isn't cumulative. His accent is mostly understandable but he whispers the most important info during lecture. He makes a lot of analogies during class. There are quizzes every week, you need the book for them.

This was a very challenging class and if you do poorly it may be detrimental to your grades as it is five credit hours. I had a very hard time following along with lectures as I did not feel like they had much organization. This class can be very difficult to keep up in and the lab tests are hard as well!

I could not understand him over half the time due to the Very Thick Accent, for real I don't even know what kind of accent it is Irish or Scottish maybe, but it is unreal. So if you must take him I would sit close to try and understand what he is saying, I am so serious. I have never had this problem with a professor before. But has alot of energy

His accent isn't the worst, but his expectations are extremely high for this class. Only three tests including final, but 40% of the grade was based on a group project, so be REALLY careful who you get in your group.

Accent isn't hard to undestand whatsoever. His tests are tough because he asks very detailed questions about the material. The smallest knowledge about a plant matters to him. Read the book and use the lab material to study and an A is very possible

His accent isn't hard to understand at all but his lectures are confusing which makes it hard to keep paying attention. He does extra credit questions in class everyday and one a week online. Those points saved my grade. His half of the semester was really hard for me.

Ari is obviously passionate about his work, but the way he explained things in class was very confusing which made note taking next to impossible. Extra credit clicker points kept me going to class. The test questions went way too in depth for the amount of material we covered so be prepared to study A LOT for this class.

Very energetic lecturer. I took organismic bio with him. This class in my opinion this class throws you way too much broad range information and expects you just to retain it all. As much as I didn't like the class material, Ari was a fun teacher to listen to. Always go to class to get extra credit iclicker points and beware- his tests are HARD, students will get some really ugly grades! A lot of times he had to throw out questions because he realized upon grading that they made no sense!

Ari is a very entertaining guy. He clearly loves his study. That being said, his accent is absolutely horrendous to understand. It is nearly impossible to tell what he is saying half the time. The class itself is extremely hard, but that's not his fault. He tries to make it as easy as possible. Overall, nice guy, just stuck with a hard class.

I like Ari as a professor. He was always willing to help and enthusiastic about the material. Many of the test questions came from old tests that he gives you. Study the flow charts and old tests and also do the study guides!

Has a bit of an accent, but not hard to understand. Weird, quirky, and funny sense of humor. Always willing to help and help in heap loads. The class is very difficult, but he makes it as easy and straight forward as possible.

The class is hard in general, be prepared to work your ass off. His accent isn't too bad, but he does flirt with all the girls in the front of the room in a quirky way. He is a funny and nice guy, if you ever need help you can seek one on one help and he will provide it.

Speaks very fast and with an accent. Hard to understand at first and then you get use to him. Defiantly need to be in class. Offers extra credit. One point per day you attend. Terminology is difficult at first. Adjust throughout the course. Don't underestimate this class.

From Finland...accent is hard to understand. He can be funny sometimes, but really gets into details and will loose you fast. His exams are hard, the class in general is difficult. He WILL NOT curve grades.

Funny! Nice! Loves FUNgi. His tests are fairly easy as long as you study the practice exam and all of your quizzes. Don't make it too hard...it's really not.

He is impossible to understand if you sit more than 3 rows back, the tests are impossibly hard and his review material is minimally helpful. For students for whom the class is not mandatory: Take something else!
