This class is typical of Latin taugth at the colleg level--take no prisoners. Ideally you should have memorized ALL of the forms prior to starting the class 1.5 years of HS stuff is stuffed into ONE SEMESTER. kids with no lang background struggled but made it.i loved latin but you need to need to know what you're getting into

i had had HS latin, so i did fine. those with no background in latin were struggling, and those without foreign lang background were LOST. i liked him though and thought the semester worthwhile. if you take this class, plan to spend twice as much time on it as any other class

Art has a really interesting aspect on film, and really wants others to have input. However, he likes to argue for argument's sake, so be willing to go toe-to-toe with him on a particular point. Hard grader and assignments aren't clear, but rewrites are always an option. Too bad he's retired now; I wish I could've have him for a Classics class.

Art Robson is one of the best things about Beloit, and they will truly suffer when he retires next year. He likes joking around; he knows everything about what he teaches; and he is utterly interested in doing right by his students. He is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! What a swell, crack-a-lackin' guy!

art was fun..if you can hold your own against him.if you want to do well,take a stand the first week and don't be afraid to fight him on it.he is looking to heat things up.if you stand up to his chalk throwing and bad-mouthing with some of your own,the course will be fun as well as a place to learn.he gives students the chance to improve.

This was my second course with Art. He is wonderful outside of class but sometimes too vague inside. If you are willing to deal with an off-and-on bipolar professor, then you'll have a blast. Just keep in mind he only has one more year until he retires.

Although I got sick of getting stuff back with "rewrite" on them instead of a grade, art really wants students to do their best. what's more, he really loves his students. I always felt like he genuinely enjoyed my presence in class.

Art is my favorite professor at Beloit and is also my advisor. He's brilliant as well as insane. As a female in a one on one as well as a classroom setting, I find his only bias to be against repeated stupidity. Prove to him that you are an intelligent person and you will gain his respect. Art punishes ignorance, its about time someone did.

Art Robson is a misogynist idiot. I had to drop the class after a couple weeks because I couldn't stand him ignoring women and picking on me because I (to him) presented as "male" but didn't act how he expected me to. He's also too disorganized and just plain mean.

He knows what he's talking about, but doesn't know how to get the information to students very well. A genuis with a communication gap, basically. His grading on papers is harder than anyone, ever, and his reasoning vague, but hands out good grades...though the reasoning behind them is questionable.

i love art! he rocks! he likes people who talk in class (intelligently), and he is fabulous about letting you rewrite stuff and giving you feedback on papers! he is awesome. a little too smart, since he gets confusing sometimes, but awesome nonetheless.
