Comment:
Dr. Frank is quite likely the most highly accoladed professor in the sociology department. He is extremely intelligent and quite helpful if you see him in office hours. I've taken 419 and 331 with him and got A+'s both times. His classes require loads of in depth reading but are truly worth it.

Dr. Frank is one of the most intelligent professors I have ever encountered. He will change the way you think about sociology. Yes this class was demanding, but his comments throughout the course are very helpful, and is a relatively easy marker if you put the work in. I really look forward to taking another course with him, highly recommend him!

This course definitely challenges your work habits as it is demanding in a sense of a 30 page essay as well as a final essay. Overall, don't let that scare you. As one person stated, this class is not for the faint of heart. But it was a good class to take!

Brilliant man. He uses great analogies to help students understand material. SO much work though. 30 page theory lesson book and 6 page paper. You will learn alot, but also work alot.

Hands down the best professor I have ever had. He is extremely passionate and very intelligible. Taking this class left me feeling very inspired. There is a lot of reading, but you will learn so much. His insights are also very engaging. I would love to have a class with him again. It was an honor, and I'm sad its over.

Really interesting class, he doesn't post lecture notes or use powerpoints so get used to writing everything he says. Learned a lot in this class.

Definitely not for the faint of heart! Dr. Frank is a passionate and intelligent professor who cares for his students and their input. I found him unclear and quite unhelpful when I started the course but when you really listen, his 'unrelated' analogies form something coherent and articulate. This course was hard but it was eye-opening.

My favourite prof at the U of C. His subject matter is extremely interesting, but it isnt for everybody. Either you love him or you hate him. HE is also extremely intelligent. Try him out and you might learn something life changing.

Nice guy. A big fan of the mohawk. You'd think that a flamingo pink mohawk on a 50 year old university prof wouldn't work, but somehow he pulls it off. He likes to rattle your cage. Watch out.

He walks around with his hands in his pockets and discusses the material in a monotone fashion. He doesn't stimulate the class or ask for any input/discussion. Do not take his class, you will regret it.

Really interesting guy. Conects his lectures to philosophy, history, things you won't expect. Has a way of making his lectures sound like he's telling a story. Good class, hopefully it'll be offered again.
