He never grades on Blackboard until the semester ends. He also never writes full scale, so you have to guess your grade until the final.

Doesnt know how to explain. Most of the time the professor is absent and a sub teacher is there. Makes error in checking exams and doesnt change the grade.

I liked this professor. Pretty good at explaining the material but does seem to go on tangents once in a while. He's nice and will definitely help you if you ask if during office hours. Downside was that there was a quiz every other class and he's a pretty tough grader.

Be prepared to hear him say "It depends." He is intense and comes off as intimidating in class, he is very helpful if you go to his office hours. He does some hilarious things in class like writing on the drywall and tables with the markers. If you do the homework and look at the past exams he provides, you should be fine

His teaching very inefficient, he handwriting is just plain out sloppy. He erases what he wrote on the broad before to get the chance to write it on your notes. The textbook does help somewhat. Class something feels like a waste of time, If you ever struggle in his math class GO TO THE MATH TUTORS in room RE129 they help out ALOT more then him.

Class is pretty much useless. I suggest getting the book, solution manual, and a chegg account. While I didnt attend class, I read every chapter in the textbook, did all homework and JMP projects, and attended office hours. He's helpful in his office hours. And while his exams are hard, he tries to help. Class is curved GREATLY.

Although his writing is virtually illegible, his enthusiasm is infectious. He is very helpful at office hours. The TAs in rm 129 are also helpful. You will learn a lot, enough to know there is a lot you still do not know!

He does pop quizzes, rarely responds to email (and when he does it's a 1 word response), terrible hand writing, acts like you're stupid when you ask a dumb (to him) question, but some people think he's friendly. To each his own, I guess.

Awful. Did not learn a thing in this class. It was a complete waste of time. Do not go to his lectures because he doesn't teach. I don't understand where they get people like him to teach students. Hes getting paid to do nothing. It's sad how bad America's education system is.

Absolutely hated it. Because of him, I saw three students switch out of a math major. Unfortunately, a required professor. Get on his good side first and ALWAYS go to office hours. Says "Well, It depends" at least three times a class and it will infuriate you.

"Well it DEPENDS!" Is what you will expect to hear from him when he asks questions to the class. I found the probability portion to be easy but when it comes to the statistics portion he is not helpful at all and he rushes through it. His homework is straight from the book but it doesn't relate to the quizzes he gives every week or the tests.

Probability portion was difficult, Stats portion was the easiest and the professor makes it easy to understand. To be successful in his course: Read the textbook, Practice the homework(he gives a ton of problems every week), Do the past exam questions he hands out!, ask him to do past exam problems during review sessions it helps.

The man is not a good teacher. He knows his material very well but he poorly conveys it to the students. always gets off topic and randomly jumps between different topics.

Lubin is the man. On my first Diff EQ exam, I had no idea on how to solve a problem, I drew a whale. I got 2 out of 15 points. Lubin will make you work for your grade. And he cares if you understand the concept and not if you can be a machine and get solutions. He makes you think. Also I put Lubin is hot because I have never seen him wear a coat.

I wouldn't take another class with him.He adds stuff which is not even in the book. Also,he's not clear during the lectures. My advice: if you take him, be ready to study on your own and dont go to class because if you listen to what he says in class, you probably might get confused. However, he's helpful during his office hours. Tough Prof. though!
