The TA does all the grading and responds to most of the questions (so if you need help go to himher first). The exam questions are provided before the exam so you do not really need to read the book (lectures are sufficient to do well). He can be hard to understand because of the accent, but he has such interesting things to say!!

Very interesting man who is extremely knowledgeable about world religions. His lectures were poorly attended, but I have no idea why! This man is one of my favourite McGill profs who should be respected for his knowledge. Do not take this course for an easy A unless you truly have an interest in world religions and are willing to study a bit.

This course is so easy, I only had some difficulty in the first part of the course,Which includes Hinduism,Taoism,Buddhism and Confucianism, Bcz I didn't know a single thing about them before taking this class. The second part is super easy and you can watch some youtube vids if you hate reading the book, this way everything will stick to your head

It's a shame nobody goes to class. While his accent is a bit hard to understand at times, you get used to it. Very wise man, an expert in the field. Class is incredibly easy. 1/3 midterm, 1/3 research paper, 1/3 non-cumulative final. As long as you go to the conferences, and memorize the terms you will get an A.

Brilliant man. Learned so much from this class, even though it was incredibly easy. Barely need the required book and don't need to attend class. You'll learn a lot about life if you do though.

Ridicously easy class. Lectures are pointless and so is the textbook - don't buy it! Attend conferences and you'll be fine. The midterm was super easy too. Just know the basic definitions of the terms and you're fine!

A fantastically easy class. I feel terrible for Sharma though, because he is a brilliant guy, yet made his class so that you didn't have to attend his lectures. No papers, only mid-term and a final (non-cumulative)

I'm sure he does have some wonderful and amusing stories to tell, but I can't do accents well at all. I didn't understand a word he said, and I stopped attending lecture after 2 weeks. Just go to the conference on Fridays and take good notes. I got a B on my exam from a couple nights of cramming.

It's an easy class if you read the book and make clear notes and study it. But the lectures are a torture. I never understand what he is saying and he confuses me. Just read the book and you will do great!

I donno man... This is class is known as one of the bird courses, but I had trouble getting good grades (maybe because I was too busy studying for other courses). The material is easy. Just make note cards and memorize everything covered during the tutorial. I know he's really intelligent and witty, but man, I wish he didn't have such heavy accent

I LOVE PROF SHARMA!!!! OK I admit I don't understand all his lectures, with his thick accent and random stories/teaching style-- but his class changed my life, I feel so lucky to have had the chance to learn from him, he brings an amazing perspective/cultural/historical connection w/material--truly inspiring, now considering majoring in RELG! :)

I had Professor Sharma years ago in an Intro. to Hinduism & Buddhism course, the class was a revelation to me, to some degree changed the course of my life, his lecturing style in deeply unconventional but the anecdotes he provides of these religious traditions has stayed with me for over 15 years. Take his course if esoteric subjects intrigue you.

"There is a fine line between genious and maddness." Sharma falls on the genious side but his office might seem otherwise. Take only senior classes from this man, especially those with few students. He is brilliant and if you listen and ask intelligent questions this will be the most rewarding university class you ever take! Love him!

This was one of my favorite classes. I felt that he was insightful, fun and intelligent. I had a real interest in this class, unlike many others at Mcgill. Better to study from TA's conference notes, but the proffesor adds a zest to all the religions and leaves you thinking about things you may neve
