I don't see what all the fuss is about in the previous comments. This class was an online FEEDs course. He pretty much used homework and test questions you can find on Google. Just write down the formulas he gives you and you'll do fine. The subject seemed to be a lot of older network technology, but just do the work and get your A.

SUCKS! This is the 4th time I have had him and I think it gets harder each time. He talks to us like we are computers. It's like watching a different language. Not a good teacher at all. You won't get anything from the class! Can't believe UCF lets him teach.

smart guy but terrible teacher. puts zero effort into the classes and never follows the book. taking his class is like rolling the dice. you may get an easy a or struggle to get a C but you will learn NOTHING!

Well, here is the true picture of mr. motlag. He's a very good professor. He knows his stuff. I took his LAN class in spring 06. he explains really good. if you do all his examples, you will pass all his tests. so, what's the big deal?????

It is because of idividuals similar to Dr Motlagh that a procedure called a vasectomy was established. My god help you if you get him as a teacher. He is a miserable example of why UCF is called U-Can't-Finish

HE IS AS EASY TO UNDERSTAND AS A CHIMPANZEE ON PCP USING SIGN LANGUAGE WOULD BE. HE GOES THROUGH A PROBLEM MULTIPLE TIMES AND EACH TIME HE DOES IT, IT MAKES LESS SENSE. HE GIVES ASSIGNMENTS WORTH A DECENT AMOUNT OF POINTS WITHOUT GOING OVER MATERIAL AND GUESS WHAT.....IT'S NOT IN THE BOOK EITHER. I'M SURE HE KNOWS HIS STUFF-JUST NOT HOW TO TEACH.

I took every single Motlagh classes. They're not hard, (except for Computer Architecture - what a pain with in-class exams!)but rest assured, you will learn nothing. The problems he assigns are worthless. The book is worthless. He's just a worthless professor. If you are interested in the IST degree, consider IT instead,might be worth avoiding him.

He is by far the worst professor I've had at UCF. He may know his stuff, but he doesn't know how to teach it to students. I ended up with an A and B in these classes, but learned absolutely nothing. The worst thing is that he is the only one teaching these courses. Good luck to all of you who have to take his classes, you are goin to need it.

Conform to his way of thinking or else! All tests are given by WebCT. Tests were strictly graded. HW isn't bad. You won't learn how to fix a network, but you can tell the probability that it will fail! Gives good examples of problems during lecture. You'll learn, but as to it's usefulness, who knows

I would have to agree that Motlagh is weird. I didn't learn anything for the classes I've taken with him. He never answers any e-mail (at least mine). I really wanted to learn more about LAN, Telephony and so forth, but his teaching methods (ie- hand writing problems on sheets of paper) suck.

This class is a joke, I took it on-line, his tests come directly from his PP slides. Just down load the slides and do a search in them with the question from the test and copy the answer. The TA is the one who answers questions not the instructor so be prepaired for that.

A chimpanzee could ace this class. My first encounter with him is undecided. He seems reasonable and respectful. Took over FEEDS and barely watched class and maybe read 10 pages of the book and aced it.

Class very easy. Everyone who is having trouble in this class are used to being spoon feed or something. Everything on tests comes from the notes almost word for word. If you want an easy 'A' take this class.

Online class. 1st test (binary & 2's complement) was hard b/c he showed us how to program it & not actually convert numbers, didn't go over 2's complement. Assignment 1 and 2nd test were really easy - straight from notes and number-base conversions. Has an accent. Each test is 25% of grade, hw 25%.
