Barb is the grandmother you wish you had! We sit around drink tea and eat cookies while embroidering away! Amazing person! Always a second chance to do better. Would 100% take again!!!!!

She is wonderful in every way. Many VA profs don't mark hard enough and it leaves VA's thinking everything they do is A+ material when it really isn't. Barb is fair. She is engaging and teaches about fun topics that don't get covered in any other VA courses. work hard and plan out your work! Grenfell will lose a treasure when she retires!

Barb is very unhelpful when it comes to what she expects with students work. It is like she magically thinks we know what she wants, and if we won't do it she gives outrageously bad marks. I think she needs to retire soon because she cannot remember half the things she tells you she wants to see in your artwork, then when you do it you get bad mark

Barb always overexaggerates how "easy" projects are and students marks always suffer because she has high expectations, that you were not even aware of. You can spend literally 60+ hours on a project and barely get a B. How much time is spent on a project should be considered in the mark but she marks from best to worst which is not fair.

Barb is a a nice person most of the time, but her intentions are not always the best. Sometimes she acts too nice when you present to her an idea and do not give any helpful tips so you wind up receiving really bad marks, and its not fair really. I think she needs to be more accepting of different art styles.

Barb will constantly tell her students to "its your artwork" but if you do what you want, and not what she suggested, she gives you terrible marks and it is unfair. she contradicts exactly what she says. This shouldn't be allowed.

Barb is genuinely a nice person. She does however have some issues with being honest with students about their work. I agree with other comments - just do ALOT of work, or make it look like it took you a long time and she will love it. She does have a tendency to say nice things about your project then mark you low.

had barb for 1st year sculpture and 2nd year drawing. i find she'll encourage you and make you think you're doing great even if you're not, making you think you -are- doing good until you get your mark and its bad. why cant she just say youre doing bad and need to do more work in the beginning. just do a LOT of work and youll get a high mark
