Professor Backley is weird in her own funny way. She knows what she is teaching and loves teaching it. And you can definately tell. The test are hard, but the labs and everything else is easy. She's really nice. I liked her.

So far, she seems like a nice teacher. She's helpful and has organized notes. Also, she uses birds alot in her illustrations which helps to understand what certain things she's talking about. So far she seems great. I'll defintely post back if she flips back and does a Dr. Jeckyll/Mr. Hyde act.

Ms. Backley is amazing. I don't know where these bad rating are coming from. She cares about her students and their grades. She is the MOST passionate professor I have ever met and is genuinely a kind and caring person! I learned a lot from Ms. Backley and you could too.

Barb seems to be a very moody person. I believe that she would be more productive working in a lab as opposed to dealing with people. Teaching is not her gift. She is a far inferior teacher to some of the other teachers that I have had at ECC.

She is one of my favorite tachers of all time! She explains everything clearly, is clear about her expectations and has interesting lectures. I never knew I liked Biology until I took her class. Be prepared to study and attend class...because its not an easy A. She gives great study guides to help for tests and is very passionate about the subject.

Professor Backley is a first class instructor. She is so dedicated to her job and it really shows how much she loves what she is doing. Bio is difficult, but she is so informative and so willing to help you be successful. She is great! I wish I could take more of her classes!

Mrs. Backley was one of the best teachers I have ever had. She gives handouts telling you what to expect on tests and will help you if you ask for it. She goes over things to know in class but you must go over her handouts to do well on the tests. Overall a great caring teacher and I would recommend taking her if possible.

If you want to learn Biology do not take this course with Backley. She doesn't teach at all and expects you to know everything for her tests. She is not helpful if you are struggling through the class and seek her help on your own time!!!! Also she's a bird watcher and thinks its better to talk about birds in class instead of teaching the materia

Barbara Backley is a great teacher! I can't believe the bad reviews I've read on this site! The only way to fail her class is to not study or show up at all. She knows her content backwards and forwards, and helps you out if you ask for the help. I had never done well in any science class until I took Bio110 with Backley. I highly recommend her!

Very cool teacher, be prepare to learn alot about birds. Test were straight from handouts and text books, and a little from the notes. Very picky about the short answers portion. Lectures were intresting and fun, very good teacher overall

I think Professor Backley was a great teacher! She was so helpful when I didn't understand what was going on, which was quite often. BIO is not a good subject for me. But she helped me so much! Just study and do the homework and you will do great!

There is a lot of good and bad in Ms. Backley. On the one hand, the class is very interesting and she is pretty good at teaching, but on the other, she can be very moody and isn't very helpful if you are confused. Her tests weren't too bad. Not all that easy but doing well is possible if you study.

What a wonderful teacher! She actually cares about her students and wants them to do well.. and, she is the only BIO teacher that offers alternatives to dissection.
