The worst ever made me question my major!! She is not helpful at all I feel so unprepared going on to the next levels. Her classes are boring and she sends out so much homework you don't have time to do it all! She's AWFUL try your best to avoid her!!

Good professor, better than the comments here. She is hard, but she will take time to teach you if you don't understand. She will do appointments and do one on one. Her knowledge of french is outstanding. Be prepared to get a rigorous education in many topics. You must do her "optional" homework if you want to stay on top of the class. Practice!

Very judgmental women. Tries to hard with her accent. I lived in Quebec and have been to france and caught her on many occasions making various grammatical and anglistic errors. Constantly comments on "weird Canadian usage" of words, and snapped at me once for speaking about my experience with French in Quebec saying we weren't talking about Quebec

I was kind of scared to take a class with Barbara when I read the rate my prof but she was ok. Tests are fair she teaches EXACTLY what you need to know. Spelling/grammar nazi though so learn that too. Go to class every day and STAY CAUGHT UP! Those are the people she cares to help. Her accent isn't as bad as some people say.

I am not the best student in French, but I felt COMPLETELY stupid everytime I left her class. Compare that to Urqhart, who never makes you feel dumb, and always encourages you, she was terrible. I will not take her again.

This lady was useless! She doesn't care and has no heart when it comes to the student's needs. She's very bitter and doesn't care whether you pass or fail. She sends out e-mails everyday after class regarding homework but still it never really made a difference. I would never take this class again with her if my life depended on it!

I took French all through High School and liked it so much that I attended l'Universite Laval in Quebec City for two months last year. Shocked that I dropped her course halfway through she shatters your confidence and doesn't explain anything. too much work and nobody in her class is happy to be there. She's not good at teaching French don't do it

Not a very good french Prof. Goes way too fast when talking, and I asked her why, and she says it's because she wants us to try to listen in french, not translate into english first. That's all good if you know french, but hard to learn it that way!

Her accent is normal, very good for an english speaker actually, french 1500 students need to stop being babies and get used to the accent, if you think hers is bad, wait until you get to france or quebec. I found the class easy, the midterm averages were normal, and she does really know what she's talking about.

You cannot dispute that she cares about her students. She assigns homework for every class which really helps when it comes to studying for her exams, you don't really have to study.. more review. She is very helpful and actually has a personality.

I was a french major, but thanks to Barbara I changed my mind, cause i couldn't stand to be in another one of her classes!!! She made my life a living hell!!!!! I can't understand why she is still teaching!
