What a lovely person! She is one of the sweetest, most helpful, sunniest instructors I have had :) She is incredibly knowledgeable (because she lived in France as a child) and extremely helpful.

Mme Galbraith is super sweet. If you struggle with French, I would recommend getting extra help because she will DEFINITELY expect a lot from you. Her class is a little intimidating because she makes it a point to call on everyone at least once per class. And don't (GOD FORBID) slip and speak English, she gets annoyed with that. Overall she's good.

Galbraith is great.I learned A LOT from her. Very friendly, and has amazing knowledge of France and its culture. She can be a bit unorganized at times, but ask questions and be attentive and you'll be fine.

I am surprised by the comments I've read, she's a wonderful teacher. She assigns a lot of HW, and is upset if you don't do it,any teach would, but if you learn the material and have good reasons for not doing the HW she's perfectly understanding. She's extremely patient, kind and communicates her subject extremely well! I would def reccomend her!

There are a lot better French teachers at WS. As a TESOL student I noticed that she does everything the teaching foriegn languages text books warn not to do. There was not enough group conversation in her classroom. I'm not complaining about her grading, but she was more harsh than all of the other teachers I've had a WS, just an obversation.

I had her for 202 & 203. Wonderful lady, very kind. Got on me a lot because I would forget to do my HW, but graded fair, tests were challenging but not too hard. Literature was kind of dull @ times, but she clarified when it was difficult. You have to do the work & study, but her classes are great!

Madame Galbraith is the nicest lady you can imagine, I don't know how anyone could NOT get along with her! She does expect college level work, but she is very willing to help you get there. I actually thought she was a little too easy on the grading sometimes. If you are willing to do your part and care about your work, she will work with you.

She is one of the best french teachers that I have ever had. She is very enthusiastic. I read some of the poor ratings that were given about her, and a lot of them had to do with politics, not liking students, and if you miss class she will "jump all over you". She has not once talked about politics in our class, there is no tension in the class b/t her and other students, and I, myself have missed class, and she was incredibly understanding.

I found her class to be difficult to keep up with due to the huge amounts of work assigned. My only advice for those taking 203 with her is to not get behind because you WILL regret it by the time the final rolls around. Only 2 tests the entire quarter, so study hard for both of them. That final knocked me on my ass, too. Very nice lady, though.
