This professor was 1 out of 3 professors for the class and was always the least prepared for lecture as well as very clustered with her notes. Her lectures added very little information to my understanding on the topic.

One of the worst professors I have ever encountered. Lectures are simple and she's an okay lecturer. But, she has the worst personality and has zero care for her students. Her grading is ridiculous, you have to read her mind to what the questions are asking and what she expects as answers. Also, she doesn't know the concept of partial credit. AVOID

Barbara Hoopes is an unreasonably hard grader, sends the most passive aggressive emails that I have ever received, and is definitely not good at explaining complicated topics (which is all of Bio182). Avoid at all costs if you want to have a passing grade in Bio

Professor Hoopes works very hard to make sure students understand tough concepts (offering extra sessions or making hands-on activities for in class). Sometimes her grading is un-clear but I think she is fair. Glad I took her!

Hoopes gives pretty good lectures, but she tried to get too much participation out of a giant class. She can't hear well so asking questions was hard in such a giant room. She can also be a little awkward, but she means well. Classes were informative, but her test questions were often horribly worded. She seems to have trouble clarifying them also.

Dr. Hoopes is a great teacher and an amazingly friendly and helpful person. If you need a test or paper rescheduled she'll help you out 99% of the time. She's very forgiving on late assignments as well and her tests are fair and easy to study for (90% from the notes)

Hoopes will spoon feed you the info during lectures but thats not always a bad thing. Her quiz questions are often poorly worded and she is hard of hearing so be sure to speak up.

Exam questions are confusingly worded. class notes are incoherent and it's almost impossible to understand ur own notebook when preparing for exams. She should b in politics because when you ask her a Q she talks around it for 10 min and ends up ignoring what u asked. Often erases notes from board 2 fast for anybody to write down what she did.
