Comment:
Barbara is a terrible professor. The class is essentially a platform for Rofkar to tell you how horrible Israel is. The grading made no sense at all. Very poor lecturer and if you dont share the same opinion as her prepare to be singled out many times. Tons of reading and attendance is mandatory to pass. Avoid this professor at all costs.

Barbara is a great teacher if you don't mind writing a lot. All of the midterms are take home essays. There is a short paper due almost every week. She is one of the nicest professors at Western and is very helpful. Be prepared for a lot of work but overall the class is not difficult at all.

Very nice professor but her lectures were long and boring and didn't present the information in a way that was easy to understand. She did not give clear grading criteria for papers (of which there were many, although not to long). Also we had group discussions every day in class.

Barbara is an amazing teacher. Each day, the first half of a class is a powerpoint lecuture from the textbook you were supposed to read (i barely read it), and the second half of class is peer-lead discussions on daily articles she assigns. The rest consists of 2 midterm (take home essay 4page), 3 movie review essays (2page), and final. Best teachr

Really nice lady. Use office hours, especially if you are a quiet person and have a hard time speaking in passionate discussions. Nice that the tests are essays, if your good at writing. This class does take up a bit of time though. But I learned a lot and really liked it! I would recommend it!

She is the sweetest lady, can sometimes go off topic and her lectures aren't the clearest- but go visit her during her office hours and at least fake that you're genuinely interested in the topics she's teaching and you'll do fine. Write to what she wants to hear and you'll get an A.

Easy prof. Very nice but lectures are very dull. Attendance is mandatory. I got a B in the class, would have been an easy A if I wasn't lazy and chose to attend. Take home exams, medium difficulty. Lots of busy work. Not a bad GUR to choose for easy, but tedious work.

Barbara is so sweet! She is a really easy grader, the first two exams are sort of tricky, but all you have to do is copy answers out of the book/lectures. The class has a little bit of busy work but the content is really interesting. I definitely recommend this class.

The professor is a very nice person but personally is a very boring teacher. She grades pretty easily but attendance is a big issue. Missing one day of class brings down your grade then failing an exam. 2 of the 3 exams are take home and kind of difficult, long and wordy but all of the answers are in the textbook.

Barbara is easily one of my favorite teachers I've had at Western. She's so passionate about the course matter, but also about teaching and being clear to students. I look forward to her class every morning. All of these complaints about "busy work" confuse me because the only homework in this class is interesting readings and documentary viewings

Barbara is such a sweet lady, but honestly there is so much busy work in this class. I felt like I could never catch a break with the work. Some of the information was interesting but some was quite boring. Most of the exams were take home which was nice. If you put in the work and make sure you get everything in, you should be able to get an A.

So much busy work. Most of my workload for all of my classes came from her. Nice lady, but ineffective professor. Biased graded and will call your ideas "confused" if you don't share her opinion. The class is about how terrible Western ideals are. I wish I could have heard both the good and the bad, but all she cares about is the later. AVOID.

She assigns an insane amount of busy work. I spent most of this quarter working on this class and I'm only taking it as a GUR. She sets up her class to be an agenda-driven course meant to attack globalization, corporations, and American society. I would not recommend this class to anyone, EVER.

Take this class! I am a senior and it is truly the best course I've taken at WWU. While there is a bit of work, Barbara is very flexible and a super easy grader (easy A). More importantly though, I learned SO much; this course really broadened my perspective. I wish it were required!

She is a biased grader and it doesn't really matter how much of your own opinion you put into your papers because if she doesn't agree, she will criticize you as being judgmental. She also isn't consistent with what she says. She's way too scatterbrained and won't justify clearly why she gave you the grade she did. Too much busy work

Barbara is a really kind and laid back professor, and I do like her personality. Though the class is getting redundant. I'm getting kinda tired of always having to watch documentaries trashing globalization. The class is kinda beating a dead horse. I thought I was going to learn more about foreign cultures honestly.

Barbara rocks. She's one of the kindest people and teachers I've ever met. INTL 201 is definitely worth it because it makes you view the world differently. Because it's discussion-based, it makes us formulate our own opinions on world issues. Everyone should take it. The textbook is mostly interesting, also.

The class is very interesting and informative, and it is evident that Barbra really cares about her students. However, there is an insane amount of busy work and she has no idea how to test her students (really though, she even admits it). She is also really skatterbrained. However, if you can get past all that, this might be the class for you!

Really wonderful professor! She seriously cares about her students and talks about issues that may be uncomfortable for some people to teach. I wish I had learned about these issues years ago, but society and schools seem to turn a blind eye. The class may seem like a lot at the beginning but it turns out fine. Everyone should take this class!!!
