AVOID AT ALL COSTS! she is extremely knowledgeable about the subject but expects way too much for being a core class. Grade is made up of 2 "quizzes" which are only 4 questions covering up to 6 chapters. The other 50% of your grade is the final. She doesn't tell you what to study so its basically a shot in the dark.

Nice lady and passionate about the subject but unrealistic in her expectations. Expects exact dates always and does not give fair exams. She will make an exam over six chapters five questions... You're always shooting in the dark. Great if you're a history major but otherwise avoid her class.

RUN. she is AWFUL just awful. Her voice is the most annoying thing i have ever heard. never in my life would i take this class again. SHE WROTE THE BOOK! Way too much reading. You can study for 8 hours and still not get anything better than a C on anything. NEVER EVER TAKE THIS CLASS!

OMG!!!!!! She is so horrible! She's like a really sweet person but she expects a lot for a 100 level history course. Quizzes are 3 questions long and exams are only 6 def not multiple choice. We have to study any way from 5 to 6 chapters plus primary sources just for those few questions. Dont take her if u dont like history or dont need that course

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID! She wrote the text book, and knows EVERYTHING and will mark off points for the slightest mistakes. Tests are 6 essay questions, quiz's are 3 essay questions. She tells students they should drop the class the first day. If you step foot in this class, may you RIP.

She is not a very good teacher if you're taking it for core. She grades difficult and her exams are 100% essay. I had to study harder for a quiz than the midterm, because quizes and exams are cumulative. Don't take her if you're not that into history.

Worst academic experience of my life. She is ridiculously condescending towards some, and is arbitrary and inconsistent in grading quizzes and exams. Takes TONS of points off for minor/insignificant mistakes. Plays favorites a lot during the class. She knows her material but is sometimes confusing in her way of presenting it. I'd avoid for sure.

Avoid at all costs. Mid-term is first 2 weeks (3 chapters) of course and final covers 10 chapters. Need to know DATES, images, and maps. She plays favorites and is biased. No set grading scale, she grades how she feels, so be well liked. Not an easy core course.

Only four grades in the class-2 exams and 2 papers. Don't forget to submit papers to turnitin.com or she will give you a zero on the paper. She gets angry easily if you haven't read the chapter the night before. If you slip up once she will never forget, very demanding and will fail you if she dislikes you. Only take if you absolutely LOVE history.

Very good teacher. She's very knowledgeable about the subject, and and made me actually want to learn about history. She does expect you to learn, however, and grades accordingly. She'll always help if you need it, though. Probably my favorite teacher all year.

Read your syllabus like the bible, or may God help you. Lectures were intelligent and indepth. Beware her papers. If you slip up anywhere, she becomes an unforgiving, unmedicated wench, and will not hesitate to go medieval on your ass. Not for the faint of heart

I was a student over 15 years ago and still appreciate her passion for her subject. If she has favorites, they are students who know why they are at a university: not for a diploma but to learn. If you are such a student, you cannot do better. Be careful: you'll leave a medievalist.
