Really nice person, solid historian, but I cannot stand the lectures. They're informative, but boring. She always seems to take a depressing tone and keeps the same tone for an hour straight. Other than that the work is pretty straightforward. Not a great class for advenced historians. Probably good for people just getting into the focus are

I had professor Tucker for both HIS 200 and this class. She is very laid back and easy going, but she still will teach you a lot. Professor Tucker is super helpful, she lets you redo papers until you are satisfied with your work, and she helps you to understand all of the material. I would rate her a 9/10.

I love this woman. Unbelievably smart and sweet. She wants you to learn, and is a fair grader. If you show her you care about your grade, she will help you immensely. We did not meet much, but meeting individually is helpful. She is so enthusiastic about history and Connecticut. I would recommend her to anyone, what a great lady.

Very smart woman, and very fair. She will not just give you an A, but you can hand the assignment back as many times as necessary until it's A worthy. As long as you learn how to do it and benefit from the assignment, she's fine with it. Be prepared to become very familar with the library, she loves books and hates internet sources. Great class

Great professor. If you have her for History 200, you go to the actual class less than ten times in the semester. It's a waste of money but required.

Love ya Barb, but teach the course, not just your speciality. Civil War means there was some fighting, as distasteful as shooting might be to you, teach it. Just close your eyes during the videos or put your fingers in your ears while you lecture about bloody Gettysburg. Still love ya and will take you again. Youre a gem in a department of jerks.

Supposed to be "Civil War and Reconstruction" but there was no instruction on the Civil War. Just one class and one video covering four years of warfare. She's very fair and a lovely person, but teach the course Barb!I'd take her again, but now I know to beware: the title of the course and the content may not be the same.

I took research & writing last fall - we weren't in class for 6 weeks. But don't let that fool you; this woman is hardcore. She's incredibly nice but her research quizzes are a ****. She's a very fair grader. As soon as she offers Native American history again, I'm taking it. Unless I've graduated.

The Best History Prf. at Eastern. Very organized, explains everything, very patient, and easy to listen too. But don't forget to take good notes - you may get mesmerized during lectures! Will let you redo work if you wish. Some take home exams. She communicates best by email or in person.
