Comment:
Can't stand the "group-only" teaching style. There are no lectures, it's all pointless group work while prof. catches up on emails. Huge disappointment.

Comment:
I question the value of the material - this course in "development" is devoid of any reference to policy, but full of jargony rhetoric, which is unrealistic and a disservice to students. "shared vision" is not poverty alleviation. Many of her "tools" are very "fill-in-the-boxes" methodologies which are the hallmark of someone weak on content.

Her NP Mngt course was based on a project that the students designed themselves. It was very challenging and exciting and I grew more from this course than I have from any other. She is very respectful and personable, but also professional.

Prepare yourself for the nervous breakdown that you will experience at the end of her course. However, it's very easy to make it through, just remember to use magic words in every class session: Senge, shared vision, and reinforcing cycle.

hardcore teaching style; be prepared to read a hell of a lot of PDF files; has a lot of field experience and still working, acutely aware of what goes on in the international development world; her classes are practical and useful, if you can make it thru
