Comment:

Dr. Jesse is a fair grader, will often curve tests, and will occasionally say something funny. Other than that it is very hard to hear him, even in the front row, making the class much harder than it has to be. We asked him to wear a microphone and he forgot the very next class. Nice guy, shouldnt be teaching anymore. I had him for 4 diff classes.

Comment:

His lectures are pretty dry, he's soft spoken and hard to hear if you don't sit in the front. Classes aren't mandatory, he posts the slides and besides a few tidbits from lecture that's all you'll need for the exam and the bi-weekly online quizzes. The only way to ace the exams are to memorize every single slide. He curves though

Comment:

I've taken Dr. Jesse for Animal Nutrition and Animal Genetics. He is such a sweet caring man who literally remembers everyone's name. He wants everyone to pass but will make you work for it, but also will be very helpful during office hours. The only issue is he never gets back when it comes to e-mails.

As a person, Dr. Jesse is well respected, knowledgeable & really wants you to succeed in his class & whatever major you're in. His lectures can be dry & seem like they take forever, but animal genetics itself is a really hard course. Going to class isn't mandatory, but it really helps. He's a pretty fair grader & will help you outside of class.

The gem of Rutgers, Dr Jesse is helpful, understanding, and wants you to do well. He has office hours that really help with confusing concepts and he explains material well during lecture.

Dr. Jesse is a great guy! His lectures are dry so the class feels like forever rather than 80 mins. His powerpoints are long, but posted onto a website so attendance isnt mandatory but he says things that are on the exams so going to class is useful. Your grade is based on 3 exams&10 online quizzes so you really wanna study&pay attention.

Professor Jesse is such a great guy and a caring professor. Lectures can seem dry at times, but he shows excitement for certain topics. I struggled greatly in this class because I never took bio, but he was so understanding. He made sure to work with me so that I'd do well in his class. Def take a class with him, he's the best! Great guy and prof!

I love this guy. He is seriously so helpful. He actually cares unlike so many other professors. I had him for genetics and nutrition. I did well in both. The other professors need to follow his example.

Dr. Jesse is wonderful! If you are really stuck he will spend the time with you during office hours. Lectures can feel drawn out, but he will get really excited over certain topics. I used the book for practice problems - get the book. Tests are not bad, but I studied and he gives partial credit! Fair grader and would take again.

Dr. Jesse is the best!! I have him for genetics and nutrition and his lectures can be a bit boring but he is always there for extra help and he explains things well! use the book and powerpoint to study the week before the exams you should be fine

Dr. Jesse is great! He is there to answer questions and explain as needed. He says the textbook is necessary but all his lectures are on Powerpoints. Only buy the book if you plan on referring back to it in the future or if you will want an extra reference for clarity. I would recommend this class. Attendance isn't taken but helps a lot!

Dr.Jesse is an awesome professor. He is extremely nice and willing to help anybody that has any questions. The textbook is really not required, but you MUST attend class and take good notes. The exams are entirely based off of the lecture notes and your notes. Highly recommend this professor! He is the best!
