I have Prof. Maine to thank for improving my writing skills more than any other professor. A's are challenging but he will NOT be unfair to you; his lectures are highly entertaining and he has a lot of really awesome stories that relate to texts and life, and he'll see you whenever you want. Best plus's he is an incredibly nice person, take him!

This man directed my thesis back in the 90s and I loved him!!! He so loves books and he kept me entertained and motivated through the thesis process. Haha! I am older now than he was then, but we all thought he was pretty hot.

Prof Maine is very good at leading discussions but not so great one-on-one and with correcting papers. I would definitely go in and see him though. His grading is very harsh and you have to work, although he does allow you to revise one paper.

I took THREE classes with Dr. Maine: Freshman Seminar, Modern American Fiction, and Literature in Film. The man LOVES books! What more do you need in a Lit prof?
